"That's our flight," Ty says as he stands up as soon as the lady finishes reciting the plane number and destination. "This is our new start."

Mimicking his actions, I grab my duffel bag in my left hand and swinging my backpack over my back with my right.

"What gate was it again?" I ask, as I look over to Ty, who was rummaging around in his bag for the tickets.

"Gate 8," he replied, as he pulled out the tickets and our passports from his bag, holding them tightly in his free hand.

"Put your bag here," Ty says, as we board the plane, walking over to our seats.

The security checks were fine for the first time, neither of us bleeping as we walked through the metal detectors. After that, we were told to wait outside the doors until the cabin crew were ready. I never understood why they called everyone if no one inside the plane was ready...

"Lemme just take out my stuff," I said, taking out my phone and headphones from the smallest pocket of my bag.

After I'd taken them out and placed them on my seat, I handed my bag to Ty who stuffed it in the overhead locker alongside his. Sitting down, I pressed my legs against my chair, making way for Ty to get to his seat. Since neither of us wanted to waste our money on a fancy seat, we were sitting in the Economy Class for the 11 hour flight.

Watching as the cabin crew did the mandatory hand signs while someone spoke into the speaker, I glanced down towards my phone incase of any messages.

        There were none.

I looked over to Ty who was doing the same, noticing his eyebrows turn into a slight frown as he tapped here and there on his phone.

"Nothing," he said, followed by a sigh.

Instead of letting it get to me, I continued to watch the cabin crew. It's not like we expected anything from them. I mean, we ran away for God's sake–we're not supposed to look for something to keep us back. Plus, this was our dream.

Once they'd stopped talking, and had gone around to make sure everyone's seat was in the upright position, and our seat belts were on, we took off.

Plugging my headphones into my phone, I unlocked my phone and tapped on the music app, scrolling up towards the 'Shuffle' button. Shuffling backwards slightly, I closed my eyes and locked my fingers together, resting them on my lap.

I always liked the take-offs and landings of flights. The feeling in your stomach as you went higher and higher in the air, leaving a certain place behind you.

I tapped my foot to the rhythm of the current song that was playing in my ears, Warning by Nick Jonas, lip singing to a few of the lines.

Feeling someone tap of my shoulder, I opened my eyes, my hands instantly going up to my ear to pull out one side of my earphones, as I saw one of the cabin crew members standing in front of me.

"Excuse me Miss, would you like anything to drink?"

"Could I please have a glass of apple juice?" I asked, smiling up at the man.
