Song for this chapter: salt and pepper- non of your business
That stupid alpha. He had me so rattled up I could punch something. I hated that he had me on edge and the effect he had on my wolf.
I slammed the door to our new house, causing the sound to echo through the thin walls.
"Anastasia, I can smell your aggression from the kitchen! Please calm down before I have to replace another door."
I tend to break them often.
Storming into the kitchen, I crossed my arms over my chest watching my aunt as she packs glasses into the top cupboard.
"mmm.." I clear my throat, " I think we need to talk."
"Oh," she carries on with her business not looking at me, "What about dear?"
"Maybe the fact that,I don't know," I sit down by the counter, "we're supposed to be incognito but I find myself in a school where everyone knows me!"
" Oh," turning around aunt Vick sits in the chair across from me,"word travels fast."
"What's going on?"
"Well, I had to get permission from the alpha to let you go to school here."
"I still don't understand why I couldn't go to a human school."
"Anastasia," she addressed me by my real name, "We've been on the run for eight years, aren't you tired of running? I'm sure we're safe. We haven't had a run in with them for years."
It was true, the people after us seemed to have given up or just lost track of us. Either way, I was never off my guard.
Taking my silence as a sign to carry on Aunt Vic speaks again, "I was hoping we could get Cresent pack to allow us to be part of their pack."
"What! Why?"
"We can't keep running. You need a life, a pack and a mate Ana."
"But we can't trust them!" I protest, "they'll use me just like our old pack. I won't let that happen again!" I stand from my seat, the anger of my wolf taking over me as the memories of my past flash before my eyes.
Taking my hand, Aunt Vic tries to calm me down, "and neither will I. They won't find out because we will never tell them."
Her reassuring words calm me down some what but I'm still too rattled up to take a seat.
"Would this be a bad time to tell you I invited the alpha and his family over for dinner?" she asks sheepishly.
"Yes!" I state, "this would definitely be a bad time."
I had no intentions if seeing that Jerk again today. Just the thought of him had my blood boiling.
"Anna, calm down. Your eyes are starting to glow."
Taking deep breathe, I try to calm myself and my wolf down. We knew I needed to get my anger to a lower level or else I couldn't control the power.
After a few minutes I open my eyes and smil at Aunt Vic, "I'm okay."
"Good, I wouldn't want to choke you to put you out." She chuckles but I know she isn't joking. There have been a few times in the past where she literally had to choke me out because I couldn't contain it.
"Be done by six hun." She walks out of the kitchen towards to dinning area, "and put on the dress I layed on your bed."
"Like hell I will." I mutter under my breathe.
