After trying for a couple more days, Lindsey gave up. He just accepted the fact Stevie didn't want to hear from him, so he let her be, hoping, praying, that that wasn't the end of them. He tried to make himself believe this was simply her way of dealing with things, that once she stayed away from him and written in her journal for long enough, she would come back to him.

And it seemed like the time had come. Having spent over a week with Dean, Stevie was beginning to think that she should go home. She was glad she came to him, because she had a friend, a real friend, who didn't sugarcoat anything, just because she was Stevie Nicks, no, he listened and offered his honest opinion, which was what she needed. Of course, besides that, she was in Italy - a country she loved. If on different conditions, this would have been a perfect vacation that she got to share with a handsome, wise man.

Waking up in what seemed to be the last morning there, Stevie found herself to be alone in the bed. The door to the bedroom was closed, so she assumed Dean had already woken up and let her sleep. Lazily, she pulled the covers away and got up on her feet, stretching some, before going to the bathroom. Reentering the bedroom, she reached for her silk robe and put it on on her way downstairs, where she found him sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee.

Walking up to him from behind, she circled her arms around his neck and pressed a kiss to his cheek, achieving a weak smile. "Good morning."

"Is it though?" Stevie asked, taking a seat next to him.

"Why do you ask?"

"Because last night I told you I was leaving and today I wake up alone."

Shrugging his shoulders, Dean took a sip of his coffee. "I suppose, I'm kind of... sad, thinking about you leaving." Covering her hand with his, he added. "It's been really nice having you here, all to myself."

"You've never been sad about it before."

"Because before, I didn't think it would be the last time I was seeing you." Dean admitted, meeting her eyes at last.

"Why do you say that?"

"It just feels different this time. Like... the things we talked about, your feelings towards certain someone."

"Right, but you knew that I've always loved him."

"Yes, and it somehow seems to me that you love him now more than ever before and if we keep this little affair going, then you'll lose him for good."

"But it's not my decision concerning any of this. He's the one married, he's the one with three kids. If he hasn't done anything about us in so long, why would he do it now?"

"Well, have you ever told him that you want to be with him? That you understand divorcing someone isn't easy, that battles over custody would most likely be involved, but no matter what, you'd be there and support him if it meant you two could finally be together?"

No, she didn't.

"Think about it." Dean said, as she remained silent, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "Breakfast?"

Knowing this was a heavy subject, especially early in the morning, Dean started up a casual conversation that had nothing to do with Lindsey, while he moved around the kitchen, making them breakfast. After that, Stevie went back to the bedroom to pack her suitcase, Dean soon coming to join her, to say goodbye...

Soon, they were on the way to the airport, Stevie still pretty much being silent the whole time, as Dean held her hand, as they drove. Once there, they knew it was really time to say goodbye, as she stepped into his arms without hesitation, considering a lot of people were around them, and they held onto each other for a long moment, before she lifted her head off his chest and rose on her tiptoes, giving him a kiss, which he responded to, drawing her in that tiny bit closer.

Coming home was a lot scarier than leaving. Stevie had no idea what she was coming back to. This wasn't very characteristic of her to just leave like that without informing anyone. She tried to come up with a plan for her actions, but she wasn't very successful. Although, first thing she had to do was, of course, talk to Lindsey.

The plane landed and Stevie, unwillingly, got up to leave. Going through the same routine, with her luggage in hand, she walked outside, looking for Karen, who was supposed to be waiting for her. Thankfully, she soon noticed her assistant, who came to help with the suitcase, as they walked to the car.

"So..." Karen wasn't entirely sure what to say, as this whole thing had been so strange.

"Take me to Lindsey."

"Are you sure?"

"Karen..." Stevie sighed. "Not this again."

"Right. Okay."

Not one word was spoken until they finally arrived. Stevie got out of the car and went to the front door of Lindsey's home. She rung the bell, hoping he'd be there.

And he was, opening the door in a minute.

"Lin-"

That was as much as Stevie said, before he slammed the door into her face.
