Chapter 6
I woke up the next morning to the sun, shining through the crack in the curtains and John with his arms around my waist. John was still asleep so I slid out of his arms carefully and went into my bathroom to get dressed. I pulled on a tight black tanktop, my black legging and put my joggers on. It was only 5:30 am, the perfect time for a jog. I grabbed my hoodie and iphone and sprinted down to the kitchen... Straight into someone.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" he complained.
"Excuse me! Who are you?" I asked, I had never seen this man before, "and how did you even get in?"
"Who am I? Teelah, you've been here for 8 months and already you can not recognise your own little brother? Unbelievable!" he said.
"Romeo? OH MY GOSH! I can't believe it! You're so big! How could you grow that fast? And when did you get all this muscle?!" I asked, punching him in the arm.
"A lot can change in 8 months Teelah," He said laughing, " where are you going so early?" he asked.
"I am going for a jog, wanna come?" I asked.
"Nah, i'm good, I'll just stay here and raid your food," He said laughing, "oh, I almost forgot, Happy Birthday!"
Romeo gave me a big bear hug and handed me a box wrapped in purple wrapping paper. I ripped open the wrapping the paper and inside was a box, that he had scribbled all over so I couldn't see what it was. I opened it up and inside was an ipad.
"OH MY GOSH! Thankyou Romeo!" I said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"No probs T. Now go for your jog," he said, pushing me toward the door.
"I'm going, i'm going," I said, putting my new ipad down and picking up my keys.
I decided to jog down to Mcdonalds for breakfast, it was only a 15 minute jog, but it would be worth it to have their delicous hot cakes on my birthday, mmm, just thinking about them made my tummy rumble.
"Hey, I'll have hotcakes, a coffee and a bubblegum mcflurry please," I said, grabbing my card out of my hoodie.
"Dine in?" he asked.
"Yep!" I said cheerfully, "Also, can I get some extra money out here, or do I have to walk down to the atm?"
"Umm, you can get some out here, how much extra would you like?" he asked.
"$50 please."
He tapped it in and turned the eftpos towards me. I swiped my card and tapped in my pin number, 290998. He handed me my extra $50 and I put it straight into the ronald mcdonald house charity box.
A few minutes later the guy came back with my food, i thanked him and walked over to the table, smelling my tray of deliciousness. I scoffed down my hot cakes in record time then poured 5 sachets of sugar into my coffee and took a sip. Mmmm, Perfertion! I loved having my early morning coffee.
