"SongYee, give that back to me right now, or I'll fucking punch you!" JuAh yelled at her bestfriend, who was standing behind the sofa.
"No! It's unhealthy to eat so many pancakes! You already had like ten!" SongYee called back, taking a bite out of the top pancake. JuAh sighed, and decided to give up. She laid down on the couch.
"What are we doing with our lives? We have come to the point of arguing about pancakes," JuAh said, and burried her face in the pillow.
"Hey, we argue about pancakes all the time," SongYee answered, and stuffed a pancake into JuAh's hand. She devoured it, and licked her lips.
"Fine, but still. The summer is almost over, and we have done nothing productive!" she complained. SongYee sat down next to her.
"Ok, you know we coul..." SongYee was cut off by their door opening, and JuAh's parents were walking in. Her mother was in tears, and her father didn't look to good either. JuAh jumped up, and ran over to them.
"Mum, Dad, what happened?" JuAh asked, hugging her mother, who quietly sobbed into her shoulder.
"JuAh dear, your aunt just called from South Korea. Your grandma is very ill," her father said. Time seemed to stop for JuAh.
"No, not grandma. She'll survive, she'll survive," JuAh continued saying those words again and again. SongYee ran up to her bestfriend and hugged her tight in her arms.
"It's going to be ok," SongYee cooed. They stayed like that for fifteen minutes, nobody tried to move, the only sound in the room were soft sobs.
"JuAh dear, another thing we wanted to tell you was that, because your grandma is ill, we have decided to move to South Korea," her dad said, after everyone had calmed down, and sat down on the couch. JuAh looked at her parents with a shocked expression.
"Really?" she asked, and her parents nodded.
"We leave next week, and as an extra SongYee is coming with us," JuAh's father announced, and SongYee couldn't help but feel happy.
"While we are there, SongYee will stay with her cousin, while we stay at our house," her father explained.
"Really? I haven't seen my cousin since is was a kid," SongYee said. JuAh felt happy for her friend. She hadn't seen any family since her parents passed away.
---(AT THE AIRPORT)---
"Why do we have to catch the flight that is so early?" JuAh whined as she sat in her seat on the plane. Both her parents groaned from the twos eats in front of her, while SongYee snickered from your left.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelts, we will be taking off soon," the captain said over the speakers. Everyone put their seatbelts on, and soon they felt the plane start moving. JuAh leaned back in her chair, and stared out of the window.
"This is going ot be really cool," SongYee squealed, next to JuAh. She nodded her head, and enjoyed the view as the plane flew higher and higher into the sky.
As the seatbelt sign got turned of, JuAh grabbed her Ipod and put on some music. Soon enough she fell asleep.
---
"JuAh, wake up," a soft voice spoke, and JuAh opened her eyes to see SongYee looking at her.
"How long until we land?" JuAh asked, sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
"We already landed, we're waiting for you," SongYee said, and stood up. JuAh quickly looked out of the window, and they had indeed landed. She quickly got up, eager to leave the plane, and gathered all her stuff. She followed her parents off the plane. They entered the airport, and collected their luggage.
"Ok so, Auntie Ara, is picking us up and then dropping SongYee off at her aunts house, and then us to our house. We'll visit grandma tomorrow. SongYee can join if she wants to," JuAh's dad explained as thex walked out of the airport and scanned the crowd for Auntie Ara.
"There she is," JuAh's mum said, and walked over to a pretty woman leaning on a car. As Auntie Ara noticed JuAh's mum she smiled, and met her halfway, and gave her a hug.
(A/N From now on they speak Korean)
"Annyeong Auntie Ara," JuAh said, and also gave her a hug. Auntie Ara ruffled JuAh's ahir then SongYee's. They all climbed into the car, and headed off.
"Appa? When does school start?" JuAh asked, cutting the silence.
"Two days I think," he said after thinking for a couple of seconds. JuAh groaned, while SongYee smiled.
"Don't worry JuAh dear, you'll do fine," her mother said, and then smiled at her daughter. JuAh returned the smile.
"We're here," Auntie Ara said from the front, as she stopped the car. SongYee got out of te car, as well as JuAh. They carried her suitcases to the door, and JuAh rang the doorbell. A Middleaged woman opened the door.
"Aunt Mina!" SongYee cheered, and hugged her aunt tightly. I could see her aunt smile happily.
"SongYee, it's so great to see you! And of course JuAh!" Aunt Mina said, noticing JuAh and giving her a hug too.
"Well, I better go, we need to visit grandma tomorrow and it's late," JuAh said, and bowed slightly to SongYee's aunt. They waved goodbye as JuAh walked back to the car.
"It was nice to see Aunt Mina again," JuAh said, and smiled a little more. Her mother and father smiled at her statement, but remained silent. They drove back to the house, and decided to only unpack the most neccessary things.
"JuAh dear, you can just go to bed. Your mother and I can handle it," JuAh's dad said, and hugged his daughter. JuAh hugged him back, then entered the house. She walked to her room, and found it just like she had left it. She got herself ready for bed, then slipped under the warm covers.
