There are many ways to apply eye shadow, I know when I first started wearing makeup I had this one way and one way only to wearing eye shadow. The way I applied my eye shadow was by just picking one color and putting it on my eyelid, but with a little more practice I found a different way, or should I say a further step to applying eye shadow and ending up with this amazing colorful look or just a Smokey eye look that some people call it.

Let’s start by labeling the parts we will add eye shadow too.

*Eyelid- I’m pretty confident that everyone knows where there eyelid is.

*Crease- The crease is right above your eyelid.

*Brow Bone- The brow bone is above your Crease but right below your eyebrows. (You can feel your brow bone.)

*Outer V- the Outer V is the outer part of your Eyelid.

*Inner V- The inner part of your eyelid...

Now that we identified the main parts, what do you say we get started…?

Step 1: First take your eyelid primer and apply it all over your eyelid up to your brow bone. (A really cheap eyelid primer is one by E.L.F for a $1.00)

Step 2: Grab your eye shadow palate (Use color of your choice). I’m going to talk about this really cute look that I like.

Step 3: Pick out your eyelid color. I’m going to choose a light brown color but not to light. (Here is a quick tip. You should have a light color picked, then the color that’s a little darker then that color, than the next darkest or the darkest color, so all together a total of three colors picked, in the order of light, medium, dark.) Take your Medium color and apply it all over the Eyelid.

Step4: Take your light color (A nice Creamy Brown) and apply it to your inner V. (Make sure to blend out any harsh lines with a blending brush. Good cheap blending brush would be L.A. Professional blender brush.  $1.00-$2.00)

Step 5: Now take the dark color (A dark brown) and apply it to your outer V

Step 6: Take your blending brush and with the same dark color shadow start at the outer V and bring the color into your crease but not too far. (As far as you would like it) keep sweeping the blender brush in a sweeping motion dragging the darker color into the crease.

Step 7 Final step: (This step is optional) Take a little bit of your white eye shadow and apply it to your brow bone, or you can simply use another color of your choice. As you can see we have reached our last step, if your eye shadow did not turn out perfect don’t worry it just takes time and practice, or I just did a really hot mess at explaining how to apply eye shadow but other than that I hope you enjoyed, and learned a little something, until next time ladies.
