~Alice's POV~
I was sitting up in bed while a storm rolled through. I didn't like storms so I didn't get much sleep that night. I didn't get much sleep from all the visions I kept getting. One was of me being alone with a girl looking at me while I was in pain, another was me moving at a very fast speed, my last one was of me getting out of here. There were others that were similar to these but these stuck out to me. The doctor, that promised to get me out of here, didn't come yet and it's now 2:36 am. I'm getting worried that he was bluffing about it. I want to get out of here. I'm not crazy, I just have something that others don't. I then heard screams outside my door. They were growing closer and I got scared so I went into the corner furthest from the door. The screams stopped and the door creaked open with only the moonlight to line the figure entering my room. It was a woman with her hair pinned up tight in a bun and she had golden eyes that seemed so hypnotizing. Her lips were full and was lined with a dark colored lipstick.
"Alice? Don't be afraid. I'm going to get you out of here. Follow me." She was in front of me in an instant and pulling me up to follow her. She held onto me as if I'd disappear and was looking all around us to even the slightest noise. I could see the exit sign and thanked god that I was getting out but that was short lived. She made an abrupt turn into another room and held her hand over my mouth while shaking her head at me. I didn't know what she was doing right then and there until I heard footsteps outside. They were getting closer with each second.
"Alice...come out, come out wherever you are." That was the voice of my doctor that promised to get me out. I tried screaming but it was muffled by the woman's hand over my mouth. She did a low growl when the door was thrown from its hinges as my doctor came in.
"Ah, I should've known you'd be here. Trying to save another one, I've seen you do it before...well before I killed them just as their heart stopped beating. I'm sure you don't want this one to die so just hand her over and I promise not to hurt a single hair on her."
"Why should I trust you? You always ruin anything I do even when it's good. She needs to live and I know how you play your games. She's your 9th no 10th person that you've played your game with. She's going to break that record of yours." I was now in front of her with her talking above my neck. I stayed quiet for my own good, watching for a crack in either of their composures. The doctor growled when she finished her little speech and I could feel her cold breath on my neck now.
"Don't scream." She whispered it so low that I had to strain to hear her but I then felt excruciating pain run through my body from my neck. I was thrown somewhere in the room and felt something puncture my skin and I couldn't do anything, see anything, or hear anything. I was numb and senseless.
I woke up in a bed that felt so soft with the silk fabrics that were layered on it. I could smell the fresh air from a window that was opened and feel the tiniest bit of sunshine that filtered down through the clouds. There was also another scent in the room that had me on high alert. I quickly sat up and ran to the opposite side of the room from them and growled.
"Calm down, I won't hurt you. I actually helped you." The woman that spoke had hair that flowed down her back in gentle brown waves with sweet golden eyes. She wore a comfortable green silk dress that complemented her appearance well.
"Where am I?" A vision came to me with a road sign saying Biloxi, Mississippi.
"I think you already know the answer to that. Come on let's get you dressed. We have somewhere to be." I was confused at her words but I followed her anyway. We came to a fully stocked closet and she let me pick out what I wanted. I filtered through all the options there were until I saw one that looked good. It was a ballroom thought dress but was a little less poufy that was colored blue and intricate designs flourished throughout it. The woman helped put it on me and I loved it.
"All set I think now. Sebastian bring up a slave. Alice hold your breath." I did as I was told and waited on this slave. A butler came up with a dirty low life and left quickly. I could hear his heart beating from where I was in the other room and could almost taste his fear.
"Breakfast Alice." I came into the other room and attacked him. He smelled so good but his blood was much better. It only took some seconds but I was done rather quick. The woman went to take the body away but I growled at her.
"You dare growl at your sire then you will face punishment. Let go of the human. There's no more blood in him." I reluctantly let him go and she took him away.
"Sebastian take him into the furnace. There's to be no evidence of this."
"Yes ma'm."
"Okay Alice. We need to get going. We're going to see a friend of mine. Come along." She held out her arm so I took it and we left her mansion to get to wherever it was we were going. We were taking a carriage as to not rouse any suspicions.
"Take the shorter route as quick as you can."
"Where are we going?" The woman only looked over at me and said;
"A old friend of mine."
