Kyokumi had never met someone so boring. It wasn't that she didn't like him, the opposite in fact, he was very nice. But he just wasn't particularly interesting. His black hair was cut short and his pale skin harboured a few freckles. His eyes were blue under his glasses. His shoulders were broad and his stature tall. But there was something to be said about his personality. The way he was patient but strict and his calm handle on things as she recounted her story was good. And the fact that someone so young had managed to make it to such a high rank astonished her. Though maybe it shouldn't have. And his name? Yukio Okumura.
Supposedly Rin's twin brother. But it was clear to Kyokumi that the two had totally different personalities that often clashed. Yet she could tell that they were close.

Rin was starting to get bored. Kyokumi was describing the dream to Yukio, but she had already told Rin. So now, Rin was already bored with the conversation. He busied himself by thinking. His thoughts wandered to Kyokumi, the mysterious angel who had seemingly abandoned heaven. Her dusty pink locks that reached her waist and her fiery orange eyes. Her figure was thin and her bust large. But she wasn't all beauty. He noted the way she moved about and gestured. It was graceful, but he had the feeling that if he were to attack her she would be just as capable of killing him right then as she would be if she had a weapon and armour. She was a fighter. He could see that much. Are all angels this beautiful? he wondered.
Kyokumi had finished speaking and now it was Yukio's turn.
"And what makes you think I will believe you, Miss Michizaki."
She shook her head and shoved off her jacket. Her wings unfurled, taking up much of the space in the private office. She was wearing a loose fitting, black T-shirt, but she had cut slits in the back for her wings. Her wings. They were so much more glorious in the light of day. The downy white feathers were soft looking.

So she really was an angel. Yukio hadn't expected her to actually be one. But that still didn't prove she was telling the truth. Maybe if she were a general.. No, she would have a mark if she were.
"Wow! Your wings are awesome!" said Rin, yanking Yukio out of his thoughts.
"Err.. Thanks," replied Michizaki.
"Can I touch them?" he said, already reaching out.
She turned red, "N-no! You can't touch them!", she yelled, yanking away from Rin's hand.
"Why not?"
"Th-they're just sensitive okay? And it's rude, you could pull out a feather or something."
Rin's expression suddenly grew thoughtful, then mischievous and Yukio chuckled lightly.
Rin spoke soon, "what kind of sensitive, eh Kyokumi?"
"Oi! Call me Michizaki, you child!"
Rin laughed loudly, "you're avoiding the question!"
"Sh-shut up!" she yelled, turning so she could better face Rin. In the process, her shirt rode up, showing a hint of a tattoo.
"Both of you please hush," said Yukio finally.
"Miss Michizaki, would you please lift your shirt and let us see your tattoo?"
She grumbled, "I hoped I wouldn't have to."
"Please, Miss."
Rin just looked at the two, confused.

Why had Yukio asked such a thing? It wasn't important, was it? But Kyokumi seemed to understand the request.
Slowly, she shifted to lift her T-shirt. She brought it above the waist of her pants, then above her bellybutton. There, just under her navel, was a tattoo. It was a ring, made of interlocking chains, that wrapped all the way around her waist. Under it, were some words, not written in Japanese, but Latin. In flamma ignis, they read. Flames of fire.
He saw Yukio get up from behind his desk and come to kneel in front of her.
"Karan the flame. Third of the angel generals."
She sighed, "Rise, Yukio. There is no need to be so formal. I'm no angel general anymore."
"But, Karan, you are still a prominent figure in heaven."
"My name isn't Karan anymore!" she snapped.
Yukio looked shocked, but didn't say anything, rising from the floor.
"Call me Kyokumi, please."
Yukio nodded, looking solemn.
Rin finally spoke up, "Kyokumi.. What does he mean by that?"
"Rin," Yukio started, "she is one of the generals in heaven's army. Second only to the queen herself."
"Like, god?"
She looked uncomfortable, "God exists in many forms, but no. The queen is still a child of god. But her power does rival that of Satan's."
It was Rin's turn to look uncomfortable.
"Did you say Satan?"
"Yes, why?"
"Nothing..."
And with that, the three concluded the meeting. Yukio left to inform people of even higher rank than him, Rin followed Kyokumi, and Kyokumi went out to lunch. But one thing was still on all of their minds. Can Earth survive this?
