P R O L O G U E

"You know, boys like you don't talk to me."  I told him. His lips turned up into a notorious smirk.

"What do you mean boys like me?" He questioned. I knew the bad boy innuendo he was playing on me, but ignored it nevertheless.

I sighed, "Tall, handsome, muscular—you." I answered, "Boys like you don't talk to me. Ever."

His smirk grew into a smile as he looked me up and down, "Well Cupcake, I am talking to you right now, aren't I?"

Imagine this; you're bullied wherever you go and you spend all your life hidden behind the hood of your oversized black sweatshirt. Sounds awful, right?

Meet Charlotte Abner—the victim. She is a complete nerd and spends every second of her free time reading. You don't know what being bullied feels like until you're in her position. Yet through everything she goes through she's still a sweet, kind hearted person who would walk over egg shells for the girl who just called her a whore.

Now meet Jacob Asher—the hot, notorious and popular bad boy. His dashing genes are mesmerizing and will make you swoon over him instantly. He has the life, money and personality no girl can deny. And he breaks girls hearts on the daily basis.

One day he catches Charlie crying in a empty school classroom and feels nothing but concern and sincerity for her.

Will fate bring them together? Will the bad boy fall for the nerd?

Promises will be broken and hearts will be torn. This is not a love story. This is a story about love.

N O T E

This book was previously called The Bad Boy and I but I reverted it to its new name which is Being Charlie because it's more of Charlotte's life and what she goes through. It's going to be cliche, yet not cliche. For anyone who is wondering why it's called Being Charlie instead of Being Charlotte, here is the reason: It's because first off her nickname is Charlie and second, I had already made the cover and I couldn't change it. Also it's short, sweet and rolls off my tongue easily! Lastly, I totally did get that last line of the description from Five-Hundred Days of Summer.
