Monday
Today is picture day.
Mom took me out to dress up before school. She excused it as Mother-Daughter Bonding Time. I think she just wanted to get away of work.
She bought me a purple blouse and tights and (because I begged and cried because her biggest weakness was how she looked in front of other moms) a blue plaid skirt and bracelets. She also bought some tiny socks, but stuffed them in the basket when I asked who they were for. They sure wouldn't fit me. They wouldn't even fit Annabelle.
Juliet wouldn't let me borrow her makeup, but that was fine by me, because I probably wouldn't wear it anyways. But she did my hair to Make Me Feel Better. I didn't really care for that either, but I didn't say so.
So I wore my blouse and skirt and tights and bracelets until gym (we are allowed to miss whatever period we want because they hold it open every period anyways besides eighth) because after my bathroom/locker room incident, I was sure as heck going to leap aft my next chance to miss gym. I waited in line with my blue slip and my 60$ and background checked and smile ready.
I have learned the hard way that smiles don't last very long, but apparently the Fates didn't believe I learned the lesson enough. Or maybe they just didn't want me to remember it. Either way, they made sure that they drilled it nicely into my brain.
It was planned perfectly, really. I was in the middle of the lie at first, just waiting ever so patiently for my turn, but then (isn't there always a 'but then'?) I had a sudden urge to really use the bathroom, so, having no one willing to save my spot (I really should have gone with Juliet), I rushed off to the bathroom, and upon coming back, saw that I would now have to occupy the last spot on the line.
When finally, finally, it was my turn, I gratefully took a seat on the small stool after handing over my slip and money. The lady told me to sit up and "Smile!" I was just in the process of sitting up and "smile" ing when suddenly (they said later that the student tripped and fell into the stand) the stand toppled over and smashed my back so I folded like the Hunchback Of Notre Dame. The photograph lady gave a little shriek before the camera flashed, capturing me in all of my hunched glory, and smashed onto her pretty face like the bridge of London falling down.
So they asked me later on if I would be okay with the Hunchback Of Notre Dame picture, or if I would like to keep the picture from last year, or just to simply keep the blank default figure by my name. Apparently, the rest of the cameras were already were already packed and sent on their way, and this one wasn't really working so well anymore and there was no one else on line who needed to be worried over (with all of the parents who love suing) except for me, so I said I'd rather keep the Notre Dame picture. I figured it was better being someone with embarrassing notice than to be reduced to nothing at all.Tuesday
Today nothing at all remotely exciting or interesting happened, but I do have a list of exciting things that will happen soon:
1) The first Prep Com. meeting is tomorrow!! I am super duper syked for this. It's either my social life changes here, for the better or for the worse
2) Annabelle is having a ballerina show soon! She's not telling us when though. But Mom doesn't care because she can just ask her teacher. This news isn't really exciting, but getting off from school for it will be!!
3) Homecoming is in 25 days!! This can either be a nooooo!!!! with the dramatic falling-on-knees-and-throwing-hands-in-air-and-looking-up-at-ceiling kind of thing, or this can be a yeeeees!!!! with the dramatic leap-in-air-with-hand-out-to-high-five-and-screen-freeze-and-movie-ends sort of thing
4) My birthday is also next month!! I will be turning a whopping sixteen years! I am a junior, but I have such a late birthday. But no matter, because soon I'll be older and sophisticated like Dakota and Kristy! Maybe they'll like me better when I'm more like them!
