Y/n POV

I whimpered as I looked up at the football team. They smirked and then the head cheerleader stepped near me. "Why is someone like you in our neighborhood?" She asked. "I was just going to the shelter." I said in a low ashamed tone. She laughed and said "well let me teach you a lesson, boys?" She signaled for them to do something. And the next thing I know, they're over me punching me repeatedly.
Blood that's all I saw, I thought that death seemed better then this. And then all of a sudden I heard screaming and the punching stopped and they ran.

I tried moving but I couldn't everything hurts, I heard footsteps coming towards me. "Are you okay sweetie?" She asked helping me up and into her car. "No it hurts, my head hurts." I said whimpering. I looked out the window as she drove to wherever she's going. I hope I don't see her I thought to myself. But shook my head at the bought of that. She's hurt me more then anyone else. Why did she have to choose them over me? "We're going back to my house and you're going to stay in the guest room until you're better. And plus I know you're staying at the shelter. Because I over heard you and those kids. So you can just stay with me for as long as you like hun." She said smiling softly at me.

She seems like a nice person. But can I really trust her? It's been hard to trust someone ever since... never mind let's not think about her again. I thought to myself. "Thank you ma'am, it means a lot. And yeah I've been at the shelter for a while now. My parents died and that's the only place I could go to. But seriously I don't want to be a bother to you. I can just go back to the shelter." I said frowning. I hate the shelter. I miss having a nice room, and having a good bed. "No I insist dear, you won't be a bother plus my daughters your age anyways. So maybe you two can get a long." She said smiling. We finally arrived at her house and she helped me out of the car and helped me into the house. "So the bedroom you'll be staying in is upstairs. And you need some rest first. So after you take a nap I'll show you around the house hun." She said helping me up the stairs and into the bedroom.

4 hours later

I opened my eyes and freaked out. Where am I? Wait I'm at that lady's house. I tried getting up and fell to the ground. I heard footsteps running up the stairs. The door opened and immediately I felt hands on me. "Oh my god are you okay hun?" She asked helping me up. "No, my body hurts and my throat hurts to." I said trying not to cry. "Lauren, can you help her in bed while I go get some soup for her?" She asked someone. "Mom I don't want to. She's one of those homeless people." The girl I'm assuming that is Lauren said. "You better help her now. Otherwise you're grounded." Her mom said sternly. Lauren came over and picked me up and put me in bed. Once her mom left the room.

Lauren glared at me "Once she brings you your soup and you finish it. You need to leave. This is our house not yours. We don't want your kind of people here." She said getting up and smiling once her mom came in the room. "Is everything okay here?" Her mom asked. "Yeah everything's fine. Once I'm done with my soup I'm going to head back to the shelter." I said sadly. "Are you sure hun?" Her mom asked me. "Yeah I'm sure I'm sorry but thank you for everything Lauren's mom." I said. "My names Clara, but if that's what you want. Just know if you ever want to come back. You're welcome here in this room whenever." Clara said smiling sadly when I finished my soup and got up to leave.

I gave her a hug and ya three walked downstairs and Clara and I said our goodbyes. And I was on my way walking to the shelter.

Lauren's POV

I smirked when she walked out and my mom looked at me with an unexplainable expression. "What did you say to her?" She asked me. "I didn't say anything mamí." I said obviously lying. "I know you said something to her and you better fix this Lauren. I expected so much better from you. I can't believe you would say something to her because she's homeless. She's homeless cause her parents died. I'm disappointed in you, now you better go find her and fix this Lauren." She said shaking her head disappointedly at me. I looked down feeling ashamed of what I did. I walked over to the key rack and grabbed my keys and left the house. Great now I have to find her.

Y/n POV

I was walking when I saw a car pull over in front of me. And there she was getting out of the car. "Get I'm now." She demanded. "No I don't want to be anywhere near you." I said continuing to walk. She obviously didn't like what I said. Cause she grabbed me by my arm and yanked me back. "I said get in now." She said looking at me furiously. "Make. Me. Lauren." I said challenging her. "Fine by me then." She said picking me up and tossing me over her shoulder. Next thing I know I'm in the passenger seat as she drives us back to her house. "Go to sleep and when we get there I'll just carry you inside." Lauren said softly. "Um no thank you, I don't trust your kind." I said using her insult to me against her. Hurt flashed across her eyes. "Just go to bed. We got a long ride home. We have another hour. I can't believe you walked that long." She said shaking her head. I gave in and got comfy and closed my eyes and fell asleep.
