(Trigger warning)

"Ciel-!" I half shout, half whimper.
His huge blue eye searches for my voice, his expression turned painfully hopeful.
"(Y/n)?!" He cries when he sees my concerned face. He looks as if he's going to say something else, but a boy shoves him to the ground first, effectively knocking the wind out of him. It's that very action that sends me over the edge. I don't know if I've ever been this enraged in my entire life.
I charge at the group who, in turn, has diverted their attention to me. A few of them give uneasy smirks, while the rest remain unfazed and cocky.
I'm not exactly sure where my fist connected first, but one of the boys soon joins Ciel on the ground, unconscious. Another flees into the haven of the school building. I'll have to finish this quickly before a teacher finds us.
A hand reaches for my throat. Before they can even wrap their fingers around my neck, I bring my knee into his gut with more force than I knew I was capable of. He gives a loud "Oof" and collapses to his side. The last boy swings a fist at my stomach. I easily catch his hand and throw him into the nearby wall.
Ciel is still rolled on his side, clutching his ribs and squeezing his eyes shut. Even with the danger gone, he looks absolutely terrified. A few tears brim my eyes at the sight, but I blink them away.
"Ciel, we have to go," I say gently, grabbing his hand to help him up. His face is bruised and swollen, and I can only imagine what the rest of his body must look like. He's holding a protective hand over his right eye.
"Is your eye alright?"
"My eyepatch," he croaks out.
I hadn't even noticed in the conflict that his trademark, black eyepatch had been torn off. I stoop over to retrieve his lost item from the grass, and with every ounce of delicacy, tie it loosely back over his eye. He gives a clumsy smile, tears framing his visible eye.
Before I can fulfill my darkest intentions to the collapsed boys, I take Ciel by the hand and jog with him to the back gate of the school. I can feel him limping and wincing, but we have to leave the scene quickly before a teacher find us. He seems to understand this and doesn't complain.

--

We reach my flat fifteen minutes later. Ciel collapses onto my couch, removing his tie and blazer. I don't waste any time in retrieving the first aide kit and rush back to the couch to help him.
I start by cleaning the cuts on his face and applying ointments. He hisses in pain when the rubbing alcohol hits his fresh wounds, but doesn't say much otherwise.
When all is bandaged on his face, I move lower. I carefully undo the buttons on his dirt-covered shirt, ignoring his growing blush.
I'm about to move the fabric off of his shoulders, but his hand shoots out to stop me. I look into his eye to see that he's become quite panicked.
"What? You aren't shy, are you?"
"T-that's not-" his voice hitches in his throat. "I-I have a scar..."
My expression softens and I lean back a bit, taking my hand from his shoulder.
"It can't be that bad-"
"It is."
"...You know, you aren't the only one with scars."
He rolls his eyes. "You wouldn't understand..."
I stand from my chair And cross my arms defensively. "And how the hell would you know what I'm capable of understanding?"
He takes a deep breath and stares at his hands. "...I'm sorry."
I sit back down. "Look, how about we make a deal. I'll show you mine if you show me yours?"
He contemplates this for a while. Finally, he says, "Alright, fine. You first."
I nod. My head feels light and for a second I begin to panic. The only person who's ever seen my scars is Bardroy, which happened accidentally anyway. I remind myself that Ciel needs medical attention, and if this is the only way he'll let me help him, then I'll do it.
Very slowly and with several deep breaths, I pull my school blazer off. Next, I unbutton the cuffs of my shirt and roll the sleeves up on both arms. Without meeting his eyes, I turn my forearms up. The smooth, (skin tone) skin is marred with a thick scar running vertically down each arm, starting at my elbow and ending at the wrist.
He's silent for a long time, but his eye is wide with shock. "Oh my God," he whispers. "Are these- did you...?"
I give a slight nod in response. "I-I tried to end my life twice...I was really lost-" my throat constricts and I can feel hot tears glisten my cheeks.
He extends a hand and runs a finger over my scar with a gentleness that would surely put an angel to shame. I shudder.
He sighs and reaches for his shirt. "I guess it's my turn, then."
He pulls the material off to expose his bare shoulders. He's pale. His teeth are chattering. He's scared. His body is severely bruised and he's bleeding in a few places, but besides that, I don't see any sign of a scar. That is, until he turns around.
Around his rib cage area, I spot a large, round burn mark. I lean in closer and can make out a faint crest burned into his back.
I can't help but gasp. I run a finger gently over the scar to make sure my eyes aren't playing tricks on me.
After a long while, I say between gritted teeth, "Who? Who did this?" I practically spit the words.
"I-it was an accident...around the time my parents died."
My jaw clenches. "Look, I don't know who you're trying to protect here, but it's better that you tell me who did this now before I go finding out myself."
He looks into my eyes and sees that I'm dead serious. "Why do you need to know?"
"So that I can kill them."
"(Y/n)..." He chuckles weakly. "Trust me, they've already been...taken care of."
I glare at him in disbelief, but decide that it'd be better to let it go. He clearly doesn't want to say much about the matter, so I won't pressure him.
For a while, he stares at me while I stare at the ground. I look up at him finally, and see that he isn't staring at me, but rather, my scars.
For the first time in a long time, Ciel Phantomhive begins to cry.
My eyes go wide. "Does it hurt? What's wrong?"
He shakes his head. He pulls me down until I'm straddling his lap. He takes my right arm and starts to leave a trail of kisses down my scar. My face begins to resemble a tomato as he turns to the other arm to give it the same treatment.
"Please...Please don't ever do this again..."
I'm too shocked to say anything. Why should he care? To him, I'm just some annoying punk that he feels the need to take care of.
"Ciel..."
He looks up at me intently before leaning in to kiss me.
"I would be lost without you," he whispers against my lips. A pleasant shudder runs down my spine.
"You've got it mixed up," I laugh. "I'm the one who would be lost without you." And with that, I crash my lips against his. We melt into something passionate and entirely irreverent. He tangles his fingers in my (H/c) hair and I run my hands over his back. Disregarding his injuries, he flops me onto the couch and positions himself on top of me. He bites my lip roughly, and I eagerly allow him entrance to my mouth. He snakes his tongue in, and I let him have his moment of dominance.
His tongue slides over every edge and crevice of my wet cavern. I let out a moan and I can feel him grin against my lips.
He pulls away and we both sit there panting for a minute.
"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that," he says.
Despite my shock, I smirk at him and say, "Try a year. I feel like I've been waiting for forever."
"Try four years. I've liked you since the moment we met." He turns his head away sheepishly.
My eyes widen. Without hesitation, I lean in to place another chaste kiss on his lips. "I love you, Ciel."
His face lights up with a genuine smile. "I love you, too."

--

After the little make-out session, I cleaned up the rest of Ciel's injuries and went to fill a bath for him.
Once he was safely in the tub, I left him to search for some clothes and to wash his uniform for the second time this week.
I'm in the laundry room hunting through the cupboards when my mobile buzzes in my pocket. I fish it out and am surprised to see Ciel's number on the caller I.D.
"Hello?" I say into the receiver.
"Hello, (y/n). My name is Sebastian Michaelis, I am Ciel's legal guardian. Would he happen to be with you?"
"Ohh, hey Sebastian." I recall meeting the man once. He must not have remembered me. "Yeah, he's here."
"Did something happen at school? His teachers have been calling me asking where he is! Why didn't he call-"
"Sebastian, slow down. There was a small incident. He'll be fine, but he wanted to go to my place to get cleaned up."
"What kind of incident?"
I send an uneasy glance to the closed bathroom door. Sebastian notices my hesitation.
"What is it? Is he alright?"
"He's fine- he just took a nasty fall down the stairs. He was a bit embarrassed, so I offered to take him back to my flat."
"May I speak with him?"
"Uh, sure..." I jog back to the bathroom and throw the door open, completely ignoring his privacy. He stares at me wide-eyed and tries to cover himself. I rush over and with my hand over the receiver, whisper, "You fell down the stairs at school, got it?"
He nods in understanding and takes the phone from me.
"Yes Sebastian?" He asks in a bored tone.
He continues a conversation with the man while I head back to the laundry room. I eventually find some boxers and an oversized shirt for him to wear. Everything else looks like it would be far too big for his petite frame.
I re-enter the bathroom and toss the clothes onto the counter. Ciel offers me the phone.
"I'm staying the night here," he declares.
I smirk. "How'd you manage that?"
"Sebastian was reluctant to agree, but he doesn't have much choice. He made a vow long ago to serve me, and if I want to do something, then he's obliged to let me, no matter the cost." He answers.
"He sounds like a very loyal butler."
"You have no idea," he smiles. I then notice that his eyepatch is still secured on.
"Aren't you going to take that off?" I gesture to the eyepatch.
He pouts. "No. It's comfortable."
I scoff, but don't pressure him any further.
After a minute of silence, he asks, "Do you think you'll get in trouble? I wouldn't want you to get suspended on my behalf..."
"Don't worry about it. Fights break out at that school all the time. Besides, If those boys wanted to snitch to a teacher, they'd end up getting themselves into trouble for starting it with you."
Ciel nods. "Yeah, I guess you're right."
"Why were they doing that, anyway? Did you say something to them?"
His face pales slightly and he looks away. "I saw them smoking something behind the school. I told them that they shouldn't do that there, and they ganged up on me..."
I stare at the floor for a long time, gauging my response.
"I want to kill them."
"(Y/n)!"
"I'm serious. They can't do shit like that without some consequences."
"You did already beat them up. I'm sure you gave one of them a nasty concussion..."
"...True."
He takes my hand. "I know you're mad, but this is my problem, not yours. I appreciate your concern, but I can handle it myself."
I send him another incredulous look, but he simply rolls his eyes.
"I really am grateful you saved me, but you don't need to do anymore than you already have. Everything will be fine."
I sigh. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

--

Ciel eventually finishes his bath and changes into the clothes and fresh bandages. I order takeout and we eat together on the couch and watch telly.
"We should be working on the homework..." He whines.
I huff through a mouthful of rice, "It's Friday night- who does their homework on Friday night?!"
He glares at me. "I do."
"Lame."
"It's effective."
"Boring."
He smolders at me beneath his long eyelashes and I giggle in response.
"Let's watch a movie," I say.
He concedes and we turn on one of the many horror movies stored in my bookcase.
We're an hour into the movie Saw when he quips, "This is disgusting."
"Yeah true," I mumble with a laugh.
He reaches over to take he remote from me and mutes the television. He tosses the remote aside and leans over to kiss me.
"We could do something else with our time," he mumbles into my neck as he places more sloppy kisses.
I give another throaty, malicious laugh. He looks a little taken aback and I search his face with the most terrifyingly sexy look I can manage. He opens his mouth, but before he can speak I push him onto his back and climb on top of him until I'm straddling his hips.
"(Y/n)-"
"Hush."
I take my time, leaving agonizingly slow kisses and bites down his neck and clavicle. He moans when I make contact with his sweet spot, and I suck his skin until I'm sure I've left a severe hickey.
"You had your little moment of dominance, but now it's my turn," I hiss against his lips. I crash against his mouth and he moans as I tangle my tongue with his.
"(Y'n)-" he whimpers, trying to suck in a breath.
I chuckle and run my hands down his frame.
Tonight was going to be very entertaining....
