"Coco!" My soon-to-be step mum shouts "The taxi's here!"
I sighed heavily, leaving Holmes Chapel, leaving dad and his girlfriend, Beth. I'm leaving my best friend, Harry. But Ireland can't be that bad can it?
But the last time I was there was... 5 years ago now.
I mis Gingey, Annabella and Maddy. Maddy mostly, we've always been close and still skype everynight, she's called dibs on Harry which is cool because when I told him he did a very visable cringe and said 'What? That whore?' I shouldn't have laughed but I did.. Because Madison does have a different guy every week..
And it all started with George... Yes, the one I called dibs on. But that was years ago.
"Colette! For heavens sake! You're going to miss your flight!" Dad calls
"Coming!" I sigh again, taking in my surroundings my plain pink, empty room and polished, bare laminate flooring.
Ireland... Here I come.
I raced downstairs to find Harry waiting for me, the second I reached him, I squished in a bone crushing hug "Bye, baby" he whispers
"Bye, Hazza. Love you"
"Love you too"
I kissed him on the cheek before saying my goodbyes to my Beth and Dad.
I got into the back of the taxi, thinking about how much it has probably changed in Ireland. I know mums moved in with her boyfriend of 3 years, the house is big she tells me. Large garden, big kitchen, massive fireplace and all that stuff mothers want in a 'home environment' but I'm not even concerned in seeing my mother after five years. Well other than the occasional skype call.
I pulled my phone out; clicking 'compose message' then scrolling through my contacts pressing down on my three best friends contact names.
TO: Maddy Bear<3:P, GINGEH, Annabella^~^
I'M COMING HOME, BIATCHES XO
I hadn't actually informed them of my return so I can't imagine what their replies will be. The taxi drive was more or less silent. The occasional whimper or sniffle from the driver. I came to the conclusion he is either ill or crying. "Are you alright?" I eventually ask, leaning forward
"Uh, yeah fine" He sniffs
"Mhm sure" I sit back
"It's just- Just my wife left me lastnight and-" He drones, but I block him completely. I feel no sympathy for these people. Plus I only asked him if he was okay, not his life story. Realising how much of a bitch I sounded like I began to listen and added my input every now and then.
Soon enough, we were at the airport. The taxi driver, who I learned was called Pete helped me with my bags and put them on a trolley for me
"Thanks Pete" I wave him away
"No, thank you" He refers to my advice
For some unknown reason people think I'm "amazing" at relationship advice. I scoff at the thought before I entered the airport; doing the normal routine, passing my bags over, going through the metal detectors, handing in my ticket and finally boarding the plane after a long wait.
"Hello miss" A fake blond, air hostess greets me "Are you flying alone, today?" I grimaced at how she blows a bubble in my face with bubble gum.
"I am" I tell her. Not bothering to mention that she got gum all over her red lips
"Please take that seat" The blonde points towards a set of unoccupied seats at the back. I thank her before picking up my hand luggage which was just a small bag containing things to keep me occupied on the short flight.
I walked over taking the window seat for two reasons. One: It is the best seat and Two: If someone sits next to me, I wont have to move nor will they have to climb over me.
"Please take your seats. The plane will be taking off shortly" Another fake spoke through the intercom but this time it was a brunette. I felt the seat next to me move, signalling someone sitting there. I didn't bother looking up, I was engrossed in this book I had been reading.
"The plane is preparing for take off. Please put on your seatbelts and please turn off any electrical devices until told otherwise. Thank you" Bubble gum girl spoke to everyone.
I heard the person next to me chuckle slightly and by the sounds of it, this person was a guy. I stole a glance at him quickly looking away. He. Was. Gorgeous.
"Why are you laughing?" I ask without thinking
"Bubble gum girl over there" He points. Ha that's what I call her.
"I know right. She needs to learn to wash her face" I absentmindedly sass. Fuck, he probably thinks I'm a bitch.
But to my surprise he only laughed. His blue eyes sparkling in humour and his laugh was adorable.
"So are you Irish?" I ask the most stupid question. Of course he is, his accent is so strong
"Yeah, but you aren't right?" He replies "I am, actually" I reply, he looks confused "Moved to England with my dad a few years back, guess I just lost the accent"
"Oh, why are you going back?"
"Miss my mum and friends I suppose. I want to meet my little sister too" I smile at the thought of Carrie, my two year old, half sister. I see her on skype and I love her already. Due to my mums boyfriend's race, Carrie has the most beautiful skin tone and coolest curly hair. She is adorable.
"You haven't met... Your sister?" He looks confused
"Half sister... Haven't been to Ireland in a while" I sigh.
The green light flashed at the front of the plane showing we can now take off the belts. I did exactly that an pulled my knees up onto the chair to get comfy. I pulled my iPod out of my bag and placed the buds into my ears the opening tune to Beauty and a Beat began. I felt the blonde guy next to me, tap my shoulder, I looked at him "Yes?"
"Is that Justin Bieber?" I nod "Mind if I..?"
"Not at all" I shake my head passing him the closest earbud to him so he could hear. I am sharing headphones with the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. Breath, CoCo, Breath.
"Niall, by the way. Friends call me Nialler"
"Colette. You can call me CoCo
