Tell Me Something I Should Know about you:  ____________

Let me think, what to say? Slut. That’s something you should know about me. Well, that’s not exactly true nor is it school appropriate. I guess I should try harder. Senior Year isn’t going to be a walk in the park anyways. Hmmm…..

“Miss Chance? Do need help with something?” My blue eyes snapped open. My teacher, Ms. Devon was standing over me glaring.

“Um…no it’s okay.” I muttered. Great, first period on the first day of school and I had already fucked up.

“Well, if everything is ‘okay’ I expect you’ll finish your assignment sometime between now and the end of class.”

I sighed. Did everyone hate me? Well, not everyone hated me. I hated me. I guess that’s not really fair to myself. I didn’t hate myself over the summer. Everything happened over the summer. And by everything I mean everything. I scrawled down “I’m complicated” on the line and slapped my paper on Ms. Devon’s desk. “Bye.” I rolled my eyes and grabbed my bag.

“Miss Chance.” Fuck. “I think we need to talk about your assignment.” I sighed.

“I have to get across campus for my next class so maybe later…” I shrugged.

“Unfortunately, I’m already using my lunch period to meet with the two other students who said ‘I’m complicated’ on their assignments.”

“Who?”

“Sheriden Nicola and Sean St. Jaymes if you must be so nosy.” Ms. Devon turned her eyes down towards the stack of papers she had to grade.

“Well, maybe later then.” I turned and walked out the classes down.  Sheriden Nicola was my best friend. Sean St. Jaymes was another one of my friends. Weird, they knew what happened over the summer, too. Especially Sheriden. I told her everything. We had been friends since we met in the sixth grade. She was the sister I always wanted. Well, that’s not true. I had a sister, Charity, but she wasn’t exactly a model of citizenship. And we were getting along worse than ever. She was a sophomore and a total brat. I sighed, I didn’t need sister drama right now. My next class was going to be my favorite class. Two words why: Dylan Jimando. Actually, four words why: My boyfriend Dylan Jimando. I opened the door to Mr. Best’s Honors Chemistry class and was surprised to see a short, brunette smiling back at me.

“Hi Sutton!” She smiled.

“Hi Charity.” I gasped. My little sister. In my class. This was not happening. I smiled at her and rushed over to the other side of the room and engaged in mindless conversation with a random girl. I think her name was Haylee.

“Hey Sexy.” I felt hands clasp over my eyes. I laughed.

“Hi Dylan.” The hands released their grasp.

“How’d you know it was me?” That goofy grin was irresistible.

“I’m physic.” I laughed. Dylan’s smile didn’t falter. He was so cute.

“Seats.” Mr. Best said. “Seats, children, they are your friends so go sit in them.” I sighed and sat in the nearest desk. Dylan sat across from me and I didn’t catch where Charity sat until I saw her brunette ponytail across the row. Mr. Best attempted to tech us something but I only listened to half of it. I felt kind-of bad for the man but it was his own fault. Eighteen year olds do not generally respect forty-five year old men who try and teach them something on the first day of senior year. I breezed through my next few classes until it was lunchtime. It would be the first time I’d seen the gang since summer. Sheriden, Sean, Blake, Mike, Dylan and possibly Holland. But then again, I’d be seeing the not so friendly friends a.k.a. Bitchy McBitcherson and her cheerleaders. It was okay, though. I could power through anything with my friends at my side. Well, almost anything. I grabbed a few books from my locker and grabbed my keys.

“Hey bitch!” The familiar voice matched the ever-changing appearance.

“Holland. I told you to stop calling me that.”

“Whatever.” Holland rolled her eyes. Her short blonde bob now had pink and blue streaks. Her brown eyes were coated in glitter and yet she pulled off a t-shirt and jeans flawlessly.

“It’s not whatever, Holly, It’s rude.” Sheriden’s voice carried through the hallway. Sheriden smiled deviously.

“What did you do?” It was a question I rarely asked anymore.

“I didn’t do anything.” Sheriden stated. She ran a hand through her long brown hair. Holland smiled; she was in on it, too.

“Okay. Seriously. What did you two do?” I asked as we walked towards my car. Holland’s parents didn’t believe in cars and Sheriden was too lazy to get in her own car and drive it. It didn’t matter though, I didn’t mind being a "slave" to my friends. I pulled my blonde hair into a ponytail and jumped in. Chipolte was only a short drive away but it felt like years trying to get there. I parked and locked my car was we all exited. Blake’s black Range Rover was already in the parking lot, which meant the boys had arrived. My dinky little Chevy Malibu looked like a shopping cart compared to Blake’s car. And Dylan’s for that matter. For their sixteenth birthday, Blake and Dylan’s parents got them cars. And not just any cars, their dad was a surgeon for Christ’s sake they got Range Rovers. Dylan picked green, it was a really ugly car but don’t tell him that. Blake picked black. He refused to stray from the classics and Sheriden’s opinion. If you asked me, it was unhealthy. I sighed.

“Okay, you guys go find them.” Sheriden made a face and grabbed her phone.

“k. Bye.” Holland, however, seemed concerned.

“Where are you going? Are you okay?” Her expression matched that of a baby deer.

“The bathroom. I kind-of need to pee.” I awkwardly shrugged. Holland blushed.

“Sorry.” She whispered and raced after Sheriden, who had left a while ago. I had weird friends.

When I returned from the bathroom it looked like a bomb had gone off. Dylan was poking at his food, Blake was staring into space, Sheriden was texting with her eyes glued to her phone, Mike was missing, Sean looked sick and Holland was crying.

“What the fuck did you guys do to her?” I was shocked.

“We didn’t do anything, you did.” Sheriden responded without even looking up.

“Excuse me?” I was confused now. Sheriden rolled her eyes, sighed, and put down her phone.

“We need to talk about what happened this summer.” Everyone’s eye snapped toward her. “Don’t give me that look. We all knew it was going to happen eventually.”
