We were able to hear the music from the party ten blocks away from the house it was being held at. "This will be the first party I've ever been to in my whole high school career. And we're almost seniors." Sabrina gaped when we pulled into the street. There was limited parking spots and Sabrina's car was bound to get doored or crashed while we're here. "I'm pretty sure we won't last ten minutes of this party, Brina. I'm really scared about what could happen." Sabrina gave me her you-got-to-be-kidding-me look. "Don't be. We will rock this party so hard everyone will realize it's okay to be smart." What was she smoking? She's going out of her mind I swear. I will not make it out of this party alive and she'll be lucky to. "C'mon Leils. When was the last time we got to mix with the populars?" I gave her a questioning look. "We haven't?" I said. Her eyes beamed. "My point exactly! Now let's go have fun, dance a little and enjoy ourselves!" Sabrina cheered as she grabbed my arm and yanked me up the driveway.
We walked in through the front door and Brina started twirling me around. I felt a cold drink poured down the back of my shirt. Sure enough it was Mac and her whiny friend Beth. I turned around to see them staring at me with a smirk. I started to smell the rum they poured down my shirt.
"What's your problem?" Sabrina barked at them. "Let me be the first to ask questions around here." Mac said coldly. "What are you geeks doing at this party." She said it like its was a statement instead of a question. "It an open invite. We're aloud to be here." Sabrina said. "Open invite to everyone, except geeks. The only geeks here are the ones serving food. You guys weren't cool enough to be on the Cool Geek list." Beth explained. I felt my face get red and I bolted out of the house. I heard Mac snicker behind me as I wiped away tears. "Hey!" Sabrina screamed. I turned around and crossed my arms over my chest and looked away.
"What the hell was that?" I looked at her in shock. Mainly because she never swears and two because she just witnessed what happened. "Why didn't you stand up for yourself!?" Sabrina asked. "That's easy for you to say you're as confident as a tiger bragging about killing its prey." She kept staring at me. "I have an extra shirt for you in the trunk." Sabrina said as she walked to the back of her car. "You're kidding me, right?" I said.
"No. I'm serious, I actually do have an extra shirt in my car." "Not that! We're actually going back in there?"
"Of course! We've only been here about five minutes. We aren't leaving just because one bad thing happened." Sabrina said as she was digging through her trunk. "I really don't want to, S. You heard what Beth said. We weren't cool enough to be on the 'cool geeks' list." I sometimes wish Sabrina wasn't so confident. "You can wait in the car if you don't want to come in. Or you can walk back to my house and risk my mother finding out about alcohol at the party, she'll call the cops and the parents, bust everyone, and we'll be known as the biggest geeks at school. And our parental units won't even let us make eye contact with each other ever again because we got busted for making an appearance at a party where a bunch of drunks and druggies are. Your choice." Surprisingly, Brina's exaggeration was quite accurate. I sighed. "Fine, give me the shirt."
