Chapter 1
New beginning
Maxine Crawford's POV
"So, what's your favorite book?" Sabrina asked, holding her phone, reading a bunch of tweets. I tap my chin and think of an answer. I looked at my phone that was held in front of us, recording us for a YouTube video. I looked around the room and thought.
"Ooh!!" I said as an answer popped in my mind. "The School for Good and Evil!! It's so exciting!!"
Sabrina laughed to herself, "You can act so childish sometimes."
"Well, I am younger than you." I stated as a matter-of-fact before sticking my tongue out.
"Whatever. Well, mine is Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell." She answered as she looked at her phone. "Next question, how old are you?"
"I'm 13."
"17."
"Next question—"
"Wait!! Let me pick!!"
"Sure." She handed me her phone since mine is being used for the recordings. I scrolled through tons of tweets and found the easiest one. "Birthday?"
"Seriously, Max?" Sabrina asked, kinda chuckling.
"Just answer it."
"Whatever. March 16."
"July 23." After a bunch more questions, the door flew open. Alexandra looked at us, and raised her eyebrows.
"YouTube." The two of us said in sync. She rolled her eyes playfully, "You know, you could've atleast helped me with the groceries."
The two of us looked at each other, then back at her and shrugged our shoulders. She groaned to herself and walked over to the counter top after closing the door. She placed the plastic bags on it then turn towards us. "Just place the groceries wherever they should be later. There's no way I'm the one who's doing it since I did the shopping."
"Kay!" The two of us chirpped before returning back to our vid. Sabrina quickly stood up and dragged her to the couch, where we've been sitting on. "Hey guys, did you miss Alex?"
"Nope. They didn't." Alex quickly said before standing up, only to be pulled down by Sabrina. You see, Alexa doesn't really like that much fame nor popularity.
"Alex~" Sabrina whined, putting on her best puppy dog eyes.
She nudged me, signaling that I should help her, to which I obeyed. Alexa crossed her arms then looked away. She looked back at us, scoffed, before groaning. "Ugh." She sighed in surrender before putting her arms down. She rolled her eyes before saying, "Fine."
The two of us cheered before asking her the same question we've been asked before. "I'm 18. And my birthday is the same with Max, July 23. Favorite book, currently, is Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children."
After awhile, our video ended. We edited it and cut out a few scenes where we probably just make fun of each other and waste time before posting it on YouTube. I watched as the likes and comments grew each passing second.
"Well now that that's over, time to clean up and put the groceries in the fridge." Alexa commanded. The two of us groaned. Perks of being the eldest.
