(Based on a Live Action Skit)
It was Thursday. (April 28th, 2016 to be exact) The time was 13:00. The administration took the Juniors and Seniors out to see the affects of drinking and driving (for all who were going to Prom on that upcoming Saturday night or not). They had prepared a mock crime scene: a completely wrecked car. Once everyone was outside, the feature was set into action. The cops showed up and opened the door of the demolished car, and who better to walk out than a slightly battered and "drunk" senior and marching band field commander, Carter Vick.At the time the ambulance arrived, one officer pulled Carter aside to do some sobriety testing while a paramedic looked for others in the skewed vehicle. In the front seat, sat Carter's girlfriend, Isabel Krills. She was the senior class rep, and promising track runner, but lay dead from the unfortunate impact. As the fire department arrived, paramedics found another passenger in the backseat. Junior and future field commander, Brandon Croft, was confirmed to have survived but terminally paralyzed with a broken neck.
While Carter shamefully sat in the backseat of the cop car, paramedics covered Isabel's lifeless shell with a white sheet and carried her out of the car and toward a morgue, where a coroner would have another sad report to write for another promising teen. As for Brandon Croft, his unconscious and bloodied body was carefully lowered onto a gurney with a blanket wrapped over his legs and a neck brace on his fractured neck; forever bound to rehabilitating, but never being able to march again. These were people I knew; they were all on their own courses to great success, but just seeing and imagining how one bad decision could make their lives go down the drain was unthinkable, unforgettable even. Although it was a skit, it was quite alarming to witness individuals you knew and cared about face a plausible demise. Make the right choice and stay sober.
