what? what's there to explain?

well there's always a reason for someone to run a race, isn't there?

background information ::

Harry was a young child when he was getting babysat by Kevin, the cute 18 year old.

the events that Louis and Harry did together were the same events that Kevin and Harry did. when Harry was bored one day, Kevin took him to see a beautiful pond.

there was a crime in the neighborhood hence the butterfly knife. Harry just happened to pick it up and throw it someone. not a person of course, but maybe another animal like a cat or dog and Kevin didn't want any one to know so they covered it up.

when it was Harry's birthday, Kevin bought him a cake and the stared at the stars before Harry had to go home.

they played in a waterfall and finally Harry was curious enough to look around and find a ledge.

why did Harry and Louis live together?

did they walk to the city too?

Anne believed Harry was old enough to stay over at Louis' house when she had to work night shift. they really did walk to the city, but Harry was little and he didn't remember it.

but he did remember when he was banned and a police had to show up and escort him out.

the "last adventure" they had was because Harry was finally old enough not to have a babysitter.

in the good ending, Louis didn't want to leave Harry, but Harry didn't have anymore memories left to have more adventures. so Harry's schizophrenic mind made up a reality where Louis asked Harry to commit suicide so that they could be together forever.
