We all ate Justine’s wonderful food, and only a little bit of it got thrown around. Zayn somehow wound up with spaghetti sauce in his hair and while we’re all pretty sure Louis put it there, nobody saw it so, as Louis said, “We can’t prove it in a court of law so he can’t be punished for it”. Which sparked a debate about what was viable evidence in a court of law.
I pushed around the remainder of my noodles, trying to figure out the best way to bring up the topic of moving in with Logan. My father was extraordinarily protective of me, the culmination of his being a protective father and a business man trying to protect his client resulting in the ultimate father-like figure. It could be very terrifying. Not to mention that I didn’t much want to hear what my best friends had to say about it since they could be brutally honest about things like this as well.
“So, Abriella? How are things going between you and Logan?” Simon asked. “Riley told me that things are getting pretty serious between the two of you.”
“Ooooh,” Louis teased. “Do tell, lovely Aby, do tell.”
“Things are pretty great. I love him, he’s funny and we get along near perfectly. He asked me to move in with him,” I said slowly, hesitantly.
Everyone’s body language changed slightly when I said that. I cringed, waiting for the dead silence to erupt into absolute chaos.
“That’s great!” my father said brightly, breaking the tension. I let out a sigh of relief, I’d imagined he’d have the opposite reaction. “I mean, it’s great if you think it is,” he added unsurely.
“Yeah, I already said yes,” I replied.
The sound of someone’s silverware clattering to the floor stopped our conversation and I looked at Niall, who was clenching his napkin. “Are you kidding me, Abriella?” he asked. “You’ve known the guy for what, 6 months? You love him? And now you’re moving in with him? Are you stupid, do you know what a risk that is?”
“Niall, I’ve been dating him for 6 months. There’s a massive difference between dating someone and just knowing them!” I found myself defending my relationship.
“Are you forgetting that this whole ‘dating’ thing started because of a picture in the tabloids and your father forcing you to enter a relationship with him?” Niall snapped at me.
“Well, it may have started that way, but it’s not anymore. And you know what? My father clearly approves, so why am I even talking to you about this? You’re not my brother, and I don’t have to defend my relationship to you!”
“If it’s any consolation, Aby, I think this is a brilliant idea,” Harry flashed a smile at me. “You and Logan are adorable together.”
“Niall’s kind of right though, I mean, isn’t it a little early for them to be moving in together?” Liam asked quietly, a slight frown on his face.
“Yeah, you’re one to talk, Li,” Zayn scoffed. “You’d been dating Danielle for two months when you asked if she could come on tour with us.”
