Chapter 1: Hey handsome, what's your poison...

Victoria's P.O.V:

I woke up on just another Friday morning and i could already hear the shouting coming from the kitchen, which sadly was right next to my room. And with a glance at the clock i knew it was time to get up.

After, somehow, managing to get in and out of the bathroom without running into any problems i began pushing clothes about in my wardrobe, trying to decide on an outfit for the day. After ten minutes i finally pulled on a pair of fitted black trousers, a dark blue button up shirt and i pulled my long brown hair up into a high ponytail.

As i entered the kitchen i could feel the tension as Lee and Nancy sat opposite one another just glaring at each other. Then there was Whitney sat next to Lee just awkwardly eating her cereal with her head down. And mum and dad rushing about making enough food and sorting everything out. And finally little Olly sat in his highchair with food all over him.

"Morning everybody!" I called as i sat down at the table and grinned when Olly smiled up at me. "And good morning to you too, mess monster!" I laughed at Olly as he ate some more food and laughed with me.

When i looked back up i saw mum and dad smiling at Olly and i before i was handed two bowls, one full of fruit and the other cereal. I then dug straight in and quickly got rid of my cereal before taking my time and enjoying the fruit. It was then that mum and Whitney began talking about going shopping soon and Nancy and i were invited too.

I was just about to answer when Nancy scoffed next to me and we all went quiet again. "Nah thanks mum, why would i want to go with her? She'll probably just end up nicking half the stuff just like her brother taught her." My sister stated in a cold voice as she glared at Whit. Brilliant, there goes my good morning.

"NANCY!" Mum shouted as she came to stand at the end of the table and looked at my sister shocked.

Lee then threw his spoon into his bowl as he looked at Nanc. "I've had enough of her already, i'm off to work. Because unlike you Nancy i have a job i got on my own." Lee said as he stalked out of the room and dad shouted after him but he was already gone.

Nancy then shook her head and also stomped out of the room and Whit obviously didn't want to hang about as she said she was going to head downstairs and get the pub ready. Mum and dad then exchanged worried looks as i suddenly burst out laughing as i saw Olly stealing one of my raspberries and giggling when i ruffled his hair.

I then saw mum smiling as she sat down facing me. "Why couldn't they be more like you or Johnny when the fight love? You know not so hostile and hurtful." She finished in a hopeless voice and i just shrugged.

"We all know it's because they're too stubborn just like you and dad. Now i have to go i'll see you later for my shift. Bye mess monster." I said as i kissed Olly's head before hugging dad and ruffling mums hair and heading back to my room.

It was only a twenty minute walk to my school and when i was talking to the class teacher i was working with she told me there was going to be a new student at the school. But she told me it was just a girl who was returning to the school by the name of Amy Branning and might be a bit nervous so i was told to keep an eye on her for the day.

But as i went about my usual day helping out the kids during their lessons and playing with them during their breaks. And it turns out the Amy girl didn't need to be kept an eye on, she had fit right back into the class and had already re-established her friendship group. So it made my day a lot less stressful, well at least at work.

And once the teacher, Mark Turner, and i had finished tidying up the classroom i began to gather my stuff and prepare to enter the war zone that was my home.
