Chapter 1: Fate

This feels nice

A young man thought as he was riding the train to Valor, a school he's in.

Valor is located on a man-made island called Valhalla.

The boy is reading his school manual and he chuckles at the thought oh him being this diligent

"Valor, a school of specialized individuals" he said to himself, he embarrassed himself when he noticed he was on a train and he just hums a tune.

"Green station, Green station" the train conductor announced "Please stand back from the automated doors and refrain from pushing"

Despite the train conductor's warnings, the boy was pushed outside as he was exiting the train.

"Is it really necessary to push?" He exclaimed but it was ignored by the busy crowd in the station.

Not wanting to waste anymore time, he went on with his business, whistling a tune he was humming to earlier.

At last, he arrived at the gates of Valor.

the school had these security guards who are muscular that checked for I.Ds, they looked serious with what they are doing

The boy thought the guards look like drunkards in uniforms and giggled at the thought.

So he waited in line and it wasn't long before one of the guards checked his I.D

"Your I.D Student" the guard asked

What a weird way of speaking the boy thought as he gave his I.D

"Nicholas Montreal? Correct?" The guard scans it with a hand-held device

Nicholas nods

A few more seconds, and the device makes a pinging sound and the guard hands the I.D back to Nicholas.

"Don't cause any trouble, Student" said the guard as he calls the next student in line.

The stress on the word 'student' seems belittling to Nicholas, but he just brushes it off and walks to his classroom.

"This place sure is an eye opener" muttered Nicholas as he was strolling along the school grounds.

Boot Camp 105 , Washington building

That's what it said on his enrollment form.

He looked at the school directory and went oh his way.

He saw students bustling with the promise of meeting new people. There were a few trees making the scenery of a busy school look relaxing.

There were trucks with the name Yamagi on the sides rolling through the roads where school officials were making sure no one was in the way.

Eventually he reached the classroom and there are a lot of people.

People of different countries can be seen in the classroom. Some of them are quite sociable, others quiet and others seem like they are in a trance.

A regular classroom, huh? Nicholas contently thought as he picked the seat in the middle row.

He just sat down when his seat mate greeted him

"Heya there buddy!" Said the guy next to him

"The name is Austin Davis, what's your name?" The guy's eyes were shimmering with expectation

Nicholas thought how cliche these turn of events unfold in front of him,
He introduced himself "Nicholas Montreal, a freshman"

"Well, I'll be damned!" Austin shook his hand "Me too buddy! Let's make this a good year for the both of us!"
