After that, Araya had felt nothing for the rest of the day. She didn't talk to Talon.
In first hour, Talon was sitting by Araya. Alyssa sat next to the two. When Mrs. Bose wasn't looking, Araya pulled Alyssa close and kissed her. Alyssa didn't pull away, because of her crush on Araya. Talon just sat there, breaking just as Araya. Araya pulled away after a moment. She glared at Talon, then started warming up.
Talon followed Araya home that day. He kept apologizing, trying to explain, but Araya ignored him. She listened, though. She listened to everything he had to say. But she didn't respond. She didn't care. She had found him with another girl, and that's all.
Now she had her mind set on one simple thing, to get away from all of it, to get out of the hell she was living in..
Taking her own life.
She walked in her house, slamming the door in Talon's face. Talon stood there, staring at the door, where she once stood. Where the only person he truly loved stood, where she made it certain that they were over.
He didn't hear anything else of her for the next few days. She hadn't shown up to school, which was definitely weird. Her mom and dad were out of town, leaving Araya on her own.
Talon decided to pay a visit to her.
He walked to Araya's house, the door being unlocked. That was even weirder. It was always locked. Talon walked inside. There was silence all throughout the house. Talon walked to Araya's room, to be met with a note on her dresser, on her broken mirror. Talon took it off, reading it.
Dear whoever is reading this,
By the time you see this note, I'm dead. Ha..after having my heart broken for the millionth time, I finally give up. To my parents, this isn't your fault. To Talon, maybe this will teach you to tell other girls no when you're already in a relationship.
Talon stopped reading halfway through, tears filling his eyes. He ran to the bathroom, the door unlocked. Araya was laying on the floor in a this tank top and shorts, cuts covering her body. On her wrists, her legs, her arms, her throat, her stomach..just cuts and blood. He ran to her body, kneeling beside her. She was still breathing. Very slight, but she was breathing. He pulled his phone out, calling the police.
Soon enough, there was an ambulance and paramedics inside, taking Araya's mostly lifeless body. Just like when she broke her wrist, Talon rode in the back with Araya, keeping an eye on her. Making sure she wasn't dead.

A couple days later, Araya slowly woke up. She was covered in bandages, and had to have a few stitches on her throat and arms. She coughed, her mouth dry. Talon was sitting on the chair beside the hospital bed. "Araya?" Talon asked, amazed that she was awake. She looked at Talon, and was hit with a wave of guilt. "Oh, baby, I'm so sorry that I let that happen. I'm so sorry that I pushed you to this and I'm sorry about the whole kiss, I didn't want to but I didn't want to hurt her or you and I'm so sorry and I know you can't forgive me but I just want you to know how sorry I am-" "Talon." Araya cut him off, her voice raspy, as Talon's eyes filled with tears. Araya smiled slightly, dispite the burning all over her body. "It's okay." She told him. Talon smiled, and went to hug her, but stopped himself before he did. "Sorry." He muttered.
"Have you been here ever since I got here..?" Araya asked. Talon nodded. "And..who found me?" She questioned. "I did." Talon told her. Araya immediately felt terrible. More terrible than she already did. She tried killing herself and the one who found her was the person whom she'd almost committed suicide because of. She looked down at her bandaged wrists. "Kitten..I'm sorry.." Talon told her. She looked up. "I'm sorry too." She said after a moment of hesitation. Talon smiled, trying to be happy for her.
The nurse came in, interrupting the internal conversation the two were having. "Araya, you're up. Do you want anything to eat? A popsicle?" Araya nodded. "Two popsicles. Please." Araya told her. "Alright. I'll be back in a few minutes." The nurse smiled, then walked out. Araya looked at Talon. "One for you." She smiled. Talon chuckled softly. "Thank you, kitten." "Anything.." Araya trailed off.
She realized that she wasn't really living for herself anymore.
She was living for him. Which was ironic, because she was living for the guy who almost killed her. But he didn't mean to. He didn't think she'd take it this far. He was begging for forgiveness, knowing how wrong he was for doing that. He realized that all when he saw the girl he loved in a bloody pile of flesh on the bathroom floor. He realized that he had lost the only thing he truly loved with all his heart, all his mind, all his body, all his soul. They weren't just living for themselves anymore.
They were living for each other. And they couldn't lose each other again.

After a few days, Araya was going back to school. Everyone was whispering about the girl with stitches and bandages all over her body. About how she, dispite almost dying, smiled at every insult. She smiled at every little petty thing girls said under their breaths about the girl who tried committing suicide. She smiled at her focus teacher yelling at her for no reason as everyone just stared at her. She smiled that whole day.
When she got home, she cleaned up the bathroom dispite the burning in her arms, legs, her stomach and her neck. Talon helped her. He forced the teachers to let him stay by Araya's side all day. He wasn't going to leave her like this. He couldn't. His duty was to be her guardian. He realized that as well when he saw her dying slowly.
He was going to be her Talon Knight no matter what life threw at the two. He was going to stay by her side.
They would always be together, no matter what.
