Stuck in a room with a hot guy!

Part 9

It turns out Rex made fantastic pancakes. I had come out of the shower to be greeted by a laughing Jas, as she stuffed her face and Rex, fully dressed and sipping on a cup of what seemed to be tea. I, myself had dressed in just tracksuit bottoms and a tank-top and tied my hair out of my face. I trudged into the kitchen and helped myself to a plate of pancakes and swamped them in Syrup. Rex looked up form his cup and smiled.

"How're you feeling?"  

I shrugged," Good. Tired I guess," I swerved to face Jas," And you missy! You seem to be tucking into them just fine!"  

She giggled in response.

" I only had about three drinks," She said, attempting to count them on her fingers," but I mean what the hell were you guys doing in the bushes anyways."  

Suddenly I felt the heat rush to my face, I glanced at Rex. He seemed to be examaning the teacup with profound interest and didn't register to what Jas had said. She looked up at me with a wicked look in her eyes and her mouth the shape of an 'O'.

"OHMYGOD you didn't do it . Did you?"  

I gasped and held up my hands.

"NO! We didn't, we were just..." I trailed off. WHat was I supposed to tell her? That we were kissing like long lost lovers behind a bramble? Suddenly Rex cleared his throat.

"I-uh better go now, I'll see you guys at school tomorrrow."  He smiled, but it was forced. I walked to the door with him and opened it.

"See ya soon Rex."  I grinned. He didn't even turn around.

The school bell thronged and we all scrabbled up and dashed out. I searched through the mass of bodies for Jasmine. She said she'd meet me out side Buisness sudies. It was nearing late afternoon and Rex had ignored me the entire day. Was that what boyfriends were supposed to do? Well, no. I mean I guess I didn't expect him to start treating me everyday how he did the night of the party but I guess he could show a little more intrest. Finally I spotted Jas and she raced up and greeted me with a huge bear hug. 

"Maureeeeen!"  

I giggled," Hey Jassie." I shrugged her off," how was graphic design?" 

She glared at me," You know I hate Mr Granson," She squirmed," and besides next year I have Mr Bater who happens to be a far better teacher-" She garbled on about teachers and exams until I couldn't take it and told her I needed to toilet. She looked at me strangely and added that I 'always needed to pee in the most important moments', and I left her and went on a search for Rex. I walked around the math corridors until I decided the most likely place for him to be in would be the cafeteria. I dashed off, causing a few students to give me puzzled looks. 

As I stepped throught the large cafeteria doors the smell of fat and oil hit my nose. It could have vomited. I often wondered why people hung out here even if they weren't even eating. I looked around and my eye caught a tuft of black gelled hair. Rex. Then my stomach flipped. Next to Rex sat my grades biggest slut. She wore a tight mini-skirt and low cut purple top that showed off way to much cleavage. She was twirling a strand of her bleached blonde hair between her finegrs and was sniggering at whatever Rex was telling her. But the most disturbing this was that their faces were so close. His eyes were half closed and a stupid grin plastered on his face,she reached out and their lips touched for a second and Rex drew back looking surprised. I hadn't noticed but I was standing slap-bang in the middle of the cafeteria my eyes locked onto Rex and the slut. He must have felt my gaze because he looked over and his eyes went so wide his iris seemd to be stranded iin a sea of white. He stood up but I had already begun to run to the doors trying to swallow down tears and the feeling of being betrayed.
