The Day Before

I did it. We did it. The three of us had just made it into the biggest Magic school on the face of this earth. And now, we only had one day to pack and prepare. I didn't have any time to lose, I had to start getting myself ready for my new adventure with my two best friends. James, Alia, and I made a mad dash to the door of the house. Holding our letters close we ran up to our rooms to start packing, if one of us lost our letter we would not be able to attend.

At this point of what I'm telling you, you may be thinking, where on earth are their parents?! Well to answer your question most people with magical abilities are abandoned by the parents. This has nothing to do with any form of hatred or resentment towards the child. It's just the way we do things. I ran around my room gathering up anything and everything I would need for the 4 years I would get to attend at AOF. From the other rooms I could hear James and Alia rushing around doing the same things I was doing. After I gathered up the bigger things that I would need to bring, I sat on my bed and used my telekinesis to do the work for me. Toothbrush, hair stuff, toothpaste, socks, journal, pillow case, all the necessities. James always thought it was unfair for me to use my power to do work, but I didn't really care that much.

The time was 3:00 p.m. I had all the time in the world to say my goodbyes. I had no parents to hug goodbye or anything like that, and telling non-magical people goodbye because I'm going to Magic Academy is...questionable. Later that day I had to go to bed, at first becoming tired after all this excitement was hard, but soon after I closed my eyes and counted from 1,000 backwards I had become trapped in my sleep.

The very next morning started at 5:45 a.m. Alia made coffee and James made a 5th check around the house to make sure we weren't forgetting anything we needed. I was in charge of making breakfast, which consisted of toast and burnt over easy eggs. "Has anyone seen my glasses, I left them right over here." Asked Alia. "I haven't seen them, have you, Lily?" I shook my head no, it was too early to be talking in my opinion. Alia finished the coffee and James finally got over his crippling anxiety of forgetting something. "When will the portal be here?" I asked. The portal was basically a warp to the school grounds, so that non-magical people don't see us walking into school, or see a school at all. "The portal arrives at around 7:00, we have about 20 minutes." Answered James. 20 minutes would be fine. I ran upstairs and changed into my clothes, I had my baseball tee, skinny jeans, combat boots, and beanie. I knew that I didn't look, "magical" but this would have to do because all my clothes were in my suitcase for school.

Soon after a whirling noise came from the front yard, it had to be the portal. I quickly ran downstairs to meet Alia and James, we were all ready to go. "I'm nervous, what if the teachers don't like me?" Wondered Alia. Alia was probably the smartest one in the group, along with being the most magical. "Don't stress, Alia, if the teachers won't like anyone, it's James." I said while playfully glaring at James. "Rude!" Exclaimed James with a laugh. "Come on guys, we can't miss the portal." Said Alia. James and I nodded our heads. We kissed the house goodbye and walked out into the front yard. A giant swirl of purple and black laid before us. I grabbed on to my backpack, which was hanging from one of my shoulders. James, Alia, and I held our breath and stepped in the warp...
