Chapter 1

Beep, Beep, Beep

ARGH, my first day of school in senior year I hate waking up to go to school its annoying, me leaving the comfort of my bed alone is the start of my day being bad but I just have to. I quickly left the bed took my towel and left for the bathroom. I wore my uniform and walked into the dining room.

"Morning mum and dad'' I said pulling out my sit where my breakfast was already served.

''So how do you feel?, this year is going to be my daughter's last year in high school'' mum gushed looking proudly at me.

''I feel good I can't believe I'm in my final year''.

''Nicole do not talk with food in your mouth''

''Amber I told you to train your daughter in the right manner'' he spoke to mum with the look disgust in his eyes.

''Daniel don't talk to me like that in the presence of my daughter'' my mum scolded and dad left the room with anger.

My dad has being acting distant lately and always look at my mum with disgust and hatred I don't know what she did or said but that was the major reason my dad sent me on a vacation to Miami. My mum didn't come with us, she gave an excuse of going to see her family. But deep down I knew she was troubled and nothing is fine with parents. Their relationship is straining and it affects me greatly because I love my parents so much and I'm a daddy girl.
After I was done eating, I took my school bag walked to the door and held the door knob

''I'm leaving for school''

''Alright have a nice day your dad is going to pick you up after school''.

''Okay''.

I got to the bus station took a bus and left for school.
Putting everything in order and getting everything I needed for my final year in high school. I went to attend my first class I was early so I sat and waited for the teacher and other students to come in when I caught a glimpse of the boy I met in Miami during my vacation.

''Hello Adam'' he saw me and grinned

'' Hello Nicole I never thought I will see you again. It seems destiny is playing a trick on us'' I just smiled at him.

''So you are new to the school'' I said stating the obvious since I have being in the school since my junior.

''Yeah, my parents moved here so as to enable my dad control the office here, how about you'' he asked

''I have lived here my entire life was born and brought up here''. He was about to say something when the bell rang when students and the teacher walked in.

I turned to him and said '' we will talk later''.

He stood up from my sit when he saw two girls who happened to be my best friends walking towards me and left the sit for both of us. Chloe and Alex are my best friends since 3rd grade. I don't know why he stood up from the sit since they were still empty sits by left . I shrugged maybe he felt he was intruding.

I had two classes and the bell rung. it was time for lunch. We all entered the cafeteria, got our food and sat on our table.

''So how was your vacation'' I asked

''It was okay except I met this hot guy my parents arranged me with'' Alex replied

''Aren't you too young for them to start their matchmaking shit on you'' I said

''We turning 18 very soon so it makes perfect sense''. Alex said

We sat in an uncomfortable silence. Chloe and Alex both looked nervous as if they were hiding something from me. I hit my hand on the table and said

''Spill it''

''i...how do you know Adam'' Alex asked

''ooo... we met during my vacation in Miami, he helped me out when I got lost. And so we were having different coincidental meeting and decided we should become friends and make use of the time we had left in Miami'' I said grinning from ear to eat
Alex nodded her head I turned to see Chloe

''hey Chloe why you so quiet how was your holiday?'' Chloe is acting strange being quiet and all. She is the talkative of our group.

''it was good'' she replied with a forced smile. And the bell rung for the end of our lunch break.

It seems the day didn't want to end, all the long and boring lectures. I haven't seen Adam after our last conversation this morning and my friends are moody and didn't want to tell what is going on, so I gave them their space when they are ready to talk they will tell me.

So much for expecting the first day being fun.
