Unknown POV
I placed the letter inside a wooden box that I had in my locker. I smiled, looking at her handwriting, and imagining how flustered she was in trying to be polite to make me come to the meetup place that she asked me to go to.
"A love letter?" A friend of mine asked while accompanying me to get food after.
I gave a small smile and said, "Not really.." while scratching my head. "It's just a letter of appreciation," I continued.
I might come off as cheesy and girly when I say I find her as the sweetest girl I've ever met, but I don't tell lies. Lying towards the person I've been yearning for, for years would hurt me. However, agreeing to her request wasn't part of the plan. It is not enough for her to remember or fall for me.
Not yet, Chaerin.. not yet.

"Have you seen Chaerin earlier? The bruises on her arm are no joke.. she really lives up to her name huh.." A girl whispered, in which I happened to overhear.
"But look at Yeulbi.. her cuts and bruises are insane as well. Sometimes I wonder how they got here in the first place." The other student stated as they gossip around about the fight between Chaerin and Yeulbi.
"I swear to God they're such bitches that are good-for-nothing." They laughed while rolling their eyes off.
Although the fight had nothing to do with me, saying such impertinent words towards Chaerin ticked me off. She is nowhere near from a 'bitch' yet they had the courage to say that.
I walked over to the girls while giving them a smile, and a glare.
I leaned in close to their faces, making sure that they would not run away from what I would say.
"Say bitch to Chaerin one more time, and I'll make sure that will be the last time you'll get to talk."
"Y-yes.. s-sir.." They stuttered in fright.
"Man that was a lil' unnecessary.. but who knew that you know Kim Chaerin.. Are you close to her?" My friend asked, trying to get information about my relationship with her.
"Yeah.. I guess..?" I smiled while feeling embarrassed. Although I don't really brag about relationships with others, somehow towards her I feel the need to do so. She is cute and quite intimidating but if someone ever finds her pretty, I wouldn't like it.
To me she was like a prince charming to came to save a weak princess, when it really should be the way around.
Even though we were apart for at least a decade, I still think that meeting her again was fate. It was like we were destined to meet.
