After a Lovers' Quarrel

Maine Mendoza is quiet during the entire ride.

Awfully, awfully quiet.

Richard Faulkerson Jr, being the guilty boyfriend that he is, tried to reach out for her hand. She recoiled and pretended to be tinkering her phone.

"Maine, I'm sorry."

No reply.

"Maine. Talk to me please."

Awkward silence.

"Maine..."

"Drop me off na lang sa entrance ng condo after the interview. Or, actually 'wag na lang. Papasundo na lang ako kay Kuya Nico."

"You promised earlier that you would cook for me."

She sighed.

"After I cook, you can go home and rest. Malayo pa ang biyahe mo."

"I won't leave until you talk to me."

"I am talking to you, in case you haven't noticed, Mr. Faulkerson."

"No. I want my girlfriend to talk to me."

She sighed, again.

That bitch will learn who is the boss.

"Talk to me, get angry with me, hit me. Please l, Maine, ayoko nang ganyan ka katahimik. Hindi ko alam kung ano'ng iniisip mo. Ano ba? Dahil ba yan dun sa kanina?"

"Alam mo kasi, Rj, ang hindi ko maintindihan sa mga fan ng loveteam niyo ni Louise ay yung matinding galit nila sa akin. Wala naman akong ginagawang masama sa kanila. I tried to approach naman yang dati mong ka-loveteam, pero parang galit na galit sa akin. Bakit, Rj? Kasalanan ko ba na hindi na kayo magka-loveteam ngayon?"

They were seated in a cafe inside GMA. They were to be interviewed later for the release of their up and coming movie. They were asked by GMAAC to drop by their office after their Eat Bulaga stint so 24 Oras can have an exclusive interview on what to expect.

"Sorry, Maine. I didn't know that they were at Broadway. Sinabi lang ni Mama Ten sa akin na may mag-aabot daw ng regalo. Di ko naman alam na sila pala yun."

"It's not your fault, Rj. Sorry din. Sumama lang naman kasi yung loob ko sa narinig ko na, I don't deserve these opportunities, na I don't deserve to partnered with you. Na I don't deserve you."

Tears are bidding to fall from her eyes. She was just so hurt. Yes, she knew that show business was not initially a part of her plan and she was not the actress that started from very humble beginnings, but she was trying so so hard to give the people what they want and more.

Today, while waiting for Rj at Broadway's parking lot inside his car, she saw Rj's former loveteam and several girls approach the SUV beside her. The window was lowered slightly and she could hear their conversation from inside his car.

"Ano, Ate Louise kelan kayo magdedate ulit ni Kuya Den? Miss na namin DenLou eh."

"I don't know yet eh, I have to ask Kuya Leysam pa."

"Papayag ba yun? Eh laging nakasunod yung yaya dun kila Kuya Den."

"Naku naman, friendly date lang naman. Tsaka di ba, hindi naman sila ni Den. Yang Yaya Maine na yan, lilipas din yan. Di naman kagandahan, feeling alta pa. Di nya deserve si Alden, tignan mo, hindi na siya makaarte puro na lang Kalyeserye yan. Di sila bagay ng yaya na yun."
