Of course. Thanks life. For the first time in three years I was happy, and life just had to ruin the moment by showing me him; the blue-eyed, blonde-hair, golden boy that ruined my life. Thomas was across the food court with a bunch of people, eating food and laughing at something someone said.
"Kayley...?" Lucy asked.
"Yes?" I responded.
"Do you know that blonde-haired dude over there?""What?"
"The dude you keep staring at. Do you know him? Or are you just staring at him because he is hot?"
"What!!! No! I do not like him" I exclaimed loudly and stood up.
I looked over to Thomas to see him staring my way. Oops. All of a sudden he got up and started walking to our table.
"Abort mission! Abort mission!" I quickly whispered to Lucy, before running off in a walking pace to the bathroom. We made a code so that if we had boy issues, we could disappear and the other would know to try to get rid of the guy that wanted to speak to us. Not that it happened to me, but Lucy had guys always trying to get her attention, and it was really frustrating for her when an ex who cheated on her wanted to get back with her.
I waited about fifteen minutes in the bathroom. But there's only so much time you can spend in a bathroom without it being awkward. So I had to walk back to the table, only to find that Thomas still hadn't left the table. I shot Lucy an annoyed look before I sat down at the table.
"Hi," Thomas said, "I'm Thomas"."Hi" I replied in short.
This caused awkward silence, as no one said anything for like five minutes.
"Uhhh, why are you here?" I asked Thomas, trying to get rid of him as the Harry Potter marathon started soon.
"My name is Thomas. Thomas Evans. Do you not know me or recognise me?" he said cockily.
"Uh, no. I do not", I replied.
"Hmm, that's strange. I thought you looked like an old friend. Kayley Hunter."
"Nup, that's not me."
"Oh okay. Well... Do any of you two ladies want to come to a party this Friday? Me and a friend are looking for a date to come with us."Lucy gave me that look; the look that said she really wanted to go.
"Sorry, parties are not for me. However, Lucy here would love to go with your friend."
"Ok sweet. If you could just give me your number so I can send you the deets...?"
"Sure," Lucy replied excitedly, writing down her number on a post-it-note and then handing it to Thomas.
Thomas then walked away, back to his friends.
"Okay," Lucy said, "What was that?"
"Do you remember my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary, and how some boy stole my first kiss...?"
