     Darkness. Complete and utter darkness is all I could see. 'Why is it so dark?' I questioned. I looked around as the words that I had thought were just in my mind echoed around the...room? This place sure seemed like a room, though it was too difficult for me to really tell. Then suddenly there was another voice, one that was far more hoarse than my own, and one that I had never heard in my entire life.

     "You...child. Come...to...me," the voice harshly whispered. I glanced around hurriedly but I couldn't find the source, so I decided not to move. I feared that I'd trip over something in all this nothingness. "COME TO ME!" it yelled, making the sound echo around the darkness. It hurt my ears and I instinctively clutched my hands over them to try and keep the sound out. It did not work as well as I had hoped, and my noggin promptly began to form a massive headache.

     My body started to tremble and tears ran down my face. I was terrified of whatever, or whoever, this was because I still couldn't see anything other than myself, when it just came out of nowhere. A tall, lanky, extremely pale man abruptly materialized and came dashing up to me, quickly grabbing ahold of my throat. I screamed, though no noise actually came, and my wide, tear-filled eyes immediately landed on this man's lack of a nose. He scowled at me with the most malice I had ever seen in my life as I whimpered and tried to get out of his death-hold on my poor neck.

     The man-creature only tightened his grip at my efforts and it took all I had not to cry out in pain. It hurt like nothing else, but my instincts kicked in and I stopped what I was doing. Apparently, this was what he'd wanted because he let up a little. He glared at me and began to speak, which made me wince at how his voice sounded.

     "You're an...insolent little thing...aren't you? Tch, blubbering already...and I've...not even done a thing to you...yet. No matter...I need you to...bring me...something special. I...need a stone. A stone...red as fire...I need it. Now...I've no need...for you...any longer," he ordered, stepping back from me suddenly and disappearing. And then I saw a flash of bright green.

     ~~~~~
     I sat up gasping and clutching my throat, coughing a little as I tried to center myself. That nightmare honestly terrified me to no end, and I had no idea why. Most of what was going on faded from my memory, though I did remember a pale, scary man asking me for a red stone.
     'I'll go to Papa. Maybe he can help me feel better,' I thought to myself.
