Banana: Oops! Sorry Lace! Didn't mean to send that screenshot to everyone! But we should all talk through group text so we're not overheard by that gender-neutral voice from the loudspeaker!! I think it's Mr. Kevin! He must be the hacker! I left Mr. Kevin out of this text.
Crush: Great idea.
Mr. Kevin: omg. I've never been on a group text before! Am I doing it right? Lolololol
Mr. Kevin: Wait??? You think I'm the hacker?!?! Lol
Banana: Dangit I can't help but be inclusive even when I don't want to be. Starting a new group text. Sorry Mr. K
Mr. Kevin: omg sad face.
Banana: Alright I fixed it.
Mr. Kevin: Is this the new group text?
Marmie: Well done, Banana. *slow golf match claps*
Banana: Shh!
Banana: Okay, we should be okay now.
Marmie: Mr. Kevin?
Banana: I really did fix it this time Marmie.
Marmie: Haha, okay. Where are y'all at? Why didn't you and Harry ever come back with the peanut butter, Lace?
Harry: lol mr kevin is still here
Banana: What?! No he isn't!
Lace: We're in the Gymnasium. We've really just tried to protect ourselves from all sorts of "nope" happening because of the weather.
Marmie: Understandable. We also had some interesting things come to light in our part of the building. The most interesting of which relates to some blue-haired boy.
Lace: Yeah, phew. I'm glad that part of Freak Week is over with.
Crush: Marmie please don't
Harry: well he was then sorry I am a slow texter
Marmie: Well I just had to see if you were alive on your end of this text thing, Bluebell. What about you, Jim-Duck?
Marmie: It's okay, Harry
Lace: What about you? Where are you? We want to get there, cause it sounds like the weather is getting worse outside.
Jim: Sorry that I am not partaking in this conversation at the moment. I know the mysterious voice said there would be consequences if I kept messing about with the Wi-Fi, so I won't, but I am currently trying to ascertain where the voice from the loudspeaker came from. We need to get to the bottom of this, cause I need the Wi-Fi if I am to stop Freak Week forever.
Banana: We're in the auditorium. Come find us!
Banana: Remember the peanut butter!
Lace: We will. It's starting to rain inside I think.
Crush: Jim, I respect that you're trying to work on this problem but – the voice said you knew the rules? And that there would be a price – what was that about?
Lace: Yup, I just heard a splash from the hallway. I hope you guys appreciate that peanut butter, cause we are going to get soaked trying to get it!
Jim: Well yes, I have been warned by the authorities several times that I must not interfere with Freak Week. I'm sure the voice we heard is in cahoots with them, and me trying to get the Wi-Fi working to fix this universal problem is against their rules of not interfering with Freak Week, as trying to fix Freak Week, is the same as interfering with Freak Week. They've threatened to find Lace and destroy her were I to do anything against their rules, as my brotherly love for her is going to stop me from doing anything.
Lace: WHAT?!
Marmie: Alright, Lace. Get your butt back here now!
Harry: its like radioactive rain
Banana: Huh?
Lace: I intend to, and btw Banana, there won't be any peanut butter cause as Harry just said, the rain that's coming in from the outside is glowing green and we can't get past it to get to the kitchen.
Lace: Also, Jim. If they're going to destroy me if you tamper with their stuff, then stop doing it!
Jim: I'm not working on that currently. I'm just trying to figure out where the voice is coming from.
Crush: This seems dangerous. Come back here now, Lace!
Lace: Oh gosh, Harry's just touched the green rain.
Marmie: What? How's it affecting him?
Banana: Hopefully not in a bad way, cause it's also coming through the roof in here.
Harry: you pretentious fools all laughing at my slow spelling from behind your phones well your all just a bunch of idiots
Marmie: Harry! What the—
Lace: He was really mad for a second, but everything seems fine now. We're coming now.
Banana: It's really starting to rain in here as well people.
Marmie: Stop stating the obvious, you hippy-dippy "ooh I'm a piece of fruit because I'm special" girl!
Banana: Marmie... really?
Banana: BTW I was telling it to Lace and Harry who wouldn't know cause they're not here!
Marmie: Banana! Oh no, I'm really sorry! I didn't mean that! And I mean that. This is not like the truth quakes!
Crush: I'm not sorry! She sent that first text to all of us – spilling out Lace's secrets without even being affected by Freak Week. You betrayed her trust and probably made her feel real bad, you yellow piece of fruit!
Lace: Stop touching the water! It's making you all spew venomous comments at each other!
Marmie: It's hard! Banana was right, there really is a lot of water pouring in here!
Crush: It's true. Sorry Banana.
Lace: Alright, we're there in a second and then... Then maybe you could all get it together! It's my life that's possibly in danger which you conveniently kept from me, JimRat, you crazy son of a duck.
Harry: the water hit her
Marmie: Thanks Harry-boy. We sort of figured.
Lace: Sorry guys. Especially you, Jim, but well there's a bit of truth to it. This is a really scary situation. Please be careful!
Banana: You're here!
Lace: Yeah we are!
Lace: You weren't kidding when you said there was a lot of water in here.
Banana: Let's try to get up on the stage.
Banana: And if any of you feel like attacking me again, come say it to my face. I might be small but I'm ready to fight!!!
Banana: Alright don't go that way. There's water over there.
Lace: Good to know.
They all spent the day huddled together on top of a platform made to look like a castle for the school's play. It was the only place they wouldn't be completely drenched in the vile water.
A private message from Jim popped up on Lace's phone.
Jim: Lace! I'm glad you're safely here, cause I just found out who the voice came from AND I managed to fix the Wi-Fi.
The lights flickered, the fire alarm rang and the loudspeaker came on once again: "You shouldn't have done that, Jim. You have now forfeited her life!"
The entire school went dark.
