It was later the next day and the rain was falling a lot harder than before, forcing all activities to be canceled

Isaac, while listening to the rain, was decorating his side of the room with movie posters, pictures of home, and clippings he had found in magazines before summer camp started. Malachai however was sitting quietly on his bed, tuning his guitar, trying to come up with the lyrics for a new song he wanted to write.

Suddenly the storm knocked the window near Isaac open, causing his loose posters, clippings, and pictures to fly everywhere. Isaac immediately ran toward the window in an effort to close it but it was stuck. Noticing Isaac was having a hard time, Malachai quickly rushed over and helped him force the window shut.

Taking a few breaths, Isaac looked Malachai in the eye again only this time he saw him as maybe not such a bad person after all.

"Thanks", Isaac breathed, smiling a little.

"You're welcome", Malachai replied back, smiling. He bent down and started helping Isaac pick up his things when his hand ran across a small stuffed horse. "Oh, here's your-" Malachai started, picking the stuffed animal up and holding it out for Isaac to take. Isaac scoffed embarrassingly when he saw what Malachai was holding. "Butterscotch", he said, gently taking the stuffed horse back.

Malachai scoffed back awkwardly, not wanting to ask about the horse. Almost as if Isaac had heard his thoughts he said, "I've had Butterscotch since I was a year old." Isaac played with soft mane on the horse, smiling down at it. "I've always loved horses", he continued, reaching over and opening the drawer of the bedside table beside his bed. Isaac returned to his seat beside Malachai on the floor a few seconds later with a picture in hand.

The picture was of Isaac dressed in a jockey's uniform, sitting on the back of He Who Walks Behind the Rows and smiling proudly at the camera as he held up a large gold trophy, confetti flying everywhere.

"Wow!" Malachai gasped, looking at the photograph and pointing to Isaac in the photo. "Is that you?" Isaac smiled proudly and nodded. "Yup", he said. "That's when I won the Belmont Stakes with my horse He Who Walks Behind the Rows. Isn't he something?"
