It was dark, and it was cold. It was raining and a fog began to rise.
You held a limp body in your arms, clutching and willing them to live. Even though you knew they wouldn't come back... Ever...
"Lucy..." You said, your voice quiet as you brushed back blonde hair from the girl's pale face. Her body was cold as ice and didn't move as you held her.
"Mm..." Lucy's lips moved so slightly that if you had blinked you would've missed it. She had her eyes barely open and her normally beautiful sparkling eyes were dull and emotionless. You held her closer as she tried to make words. "(Y/N)... S...sorry..."
"What?!" You said, confused. "What're you talking about?"
"I shouldn't... Have... Left you..."
Her voice sounded coarse and it pained you for her to sound like that. You always thought her voice was beautiful.
Her skin was ghost white, and she didn't seem to have the strength to speak for much longer.
She was dying...
"Lucy please..." You begged through tears. "You can't leave me, you promised you wouldn't!"
"I... Know..." She managed.
You had seen her about an hour before, she was fine. She just went out for a walk. She had to be fine, she would be fine! You told yourself that repeatedly.
"Lucy I can't..." You choked up, pulling her closer to you.
"(Y/N)..." She whispered. "Stop... Look at me..."
You met her half opened eyes, seeing a tear form in the corner of her eye, and watched it fall down her cheek. You leaned down, kissing the tear, and then her forehead.
"I love you Lucy..." You whispered. "I don't want to lose you..."
You thought about how you and Lucy made plans for your future together. You would get married, go somewhere for a honey moon, then when you came back you would start looking for a kid to adopt. You'd planned out everything. It was going to be perfect... And now...
"Marry... Me...?"
You looked down at her in shock. Then with out heisitation, you nodded and took her hand in your's. You flinched at how cold it was, compared to what it was normally like, you felt as if you were holding a piece of ice.
"I think we can skip to the 'I do's'" You said to her, and a slight twitch of the corners of her lips told you that she agreed.
"Do... You... Take me...?" She managed.
"Of course I do," You smiled through tears. "Do you take me?"
"Y...yes."
Your smiled faded as you watched her eyes close completely, the weak grip on your hand vanished. Her hand fell to ground, and her chest stopped rising and falling.
"Lucy!" You screamed, holding the limp body of your now wife. "I love you. I love you so much!"
You repeated it over and over until your throat hurt. You looked at the blonde, a feeling in your stomach and chest came. As if you were being held down.
You didn't move, even as the clouds moved and the rain subsided. Rays of sunshine came down, making everything thing sparkle. Birds started chirping and there was a soft breeze.
You looked up at the sky, memories of you and Lucy filled your mind. You looked back at Lucy, and you smiled.
"I love you... Lucy..." You leaned down and kissed her lips.
