New Years Day

Chapter 2

Mitch POV

We were doing Private Performance and just so happens that Jackie is in here. She's different than all of our other fans. I don't know how to explain it, but I just get this feeling when I'm around her. I hated to avoid her, but I tried my best to do just that. I didn't want anything to happen with fans. I don't know how everyone would handle that. That's why we've always said no one can get involved with the fans. But this time is different, I know it is.

I had been in my head and didn't realize that Scott was trying to get my attention.

"What?" I asked blankly

"I've been trying to get your attention for the last five minutes, it's time for private performance. Are you okay?"

"Yeah yeah I'm fine. Let's get started then."

We ran through Take Me Home, but not without messing up of course. I completely messed up the words and I now felt embarrassed. I don't normally feel that way, but Jackie was in here and suddenly I was embarrassed. She heard me mess up.

"I can't do this." I quietly said and ran out the door. I heard screaming fans, but I wasn't paying attention to them. I just needed to get out of here for a little bit. I recalled seeing a park a block or two away, so I ran to it. I sat down on the swing and let my tears all out. I had only been there for about five minutes when this little person came up to me and pulled on my sleeve.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

I wiped my eyes. "It's complicated, but I'm okay now."

She smiled, "it's okay to cry, I won't be mean to you if you do. My mommy cries a lot and I always comfort her. So if you cry I'll comfort you, too."

I chuckled a little. "No, It's okay, I'm good now, but thank you. Now where are you supposed to be?"

"My mommy and I are going to the Pentatonix concert. Do you know them?"

"Honey, I do actually. I'm Mitch, and I'm in the group." Her eyes lit up and she gave me a big hug.

"I'm sorry, I have to go now. Have fun, I'll see you later!" She screamed as she ran away.

I chuckled and started to walk back to the venue we were playing at tonight.

A/N: I feel like this book is a lost cause, but I'm gonna try and update it more often. Idk if it's actually gonna work and be a good book, but I guess we'll have to see where it goes. Also, double update, how cool is that?
