Hello my wonderful people and readers. I am sorry that I've been gone so long and I'm somewhat sorry on the cliff hanger in the first chapter. Well to make this short here is the next chapter.

------------

"So what about life?" Destiny asked. I took a swig from my vodka bottle. She was really starting to get to me.

''Private and unimportant." I said quickly and drank the rest of the bottle. I tossed the bottle in to the garbage can close to me. I stood straight up and swayed for a minute. After I got myself straight I walked up to the rest of the party.

"Hey there's my best friend, where've ya been?" My friend/brother said to me as he wrapped an arm around my shoulder. He was obviously very drunk. Then his gaze switched from me to Destiny as she walked past me. "You were with a girl!" He drunk smiled. I pushed him lightly just so I can escape his arm.

"Not in the mood man." I walk inside the house and go to the couch. "Hey Dad." I say as I watch him play a game on his xbox one. "What game is this?" I ask.

"Okay so you're drunk." He said placing his controller on to the table in front of us. "It was Halo 5, but now I'm more focused on you." He said. "You okay?" He added. I gave him a blank look.

"What do you think? I am not okay." I said angrily. "Especially after you tried setting me up with that Destiny woman." I added.

"Woah, calm down tiger. You're mother and I didn't set this one up. Actually she approached us on this one." He said. I raised my eyebrows suspiciously.

"Yeah right. I'm a fucking drunk. Who would want anything to do with me?" I asked sitting back.

"Apparently her." He said pointing outside to the party. I looked to where he was pointing. There was Destiny laughing with Courtney and her new boyfriend, Matt. Her smile was bright and happy. Though her eyes looked as though they were missing something they were still icy blue oceans of joy. Which leaves the question. Why did this girl want anything to do with me?

"Go get her number." I heard my dad say. I looked back to him with a questioning look. "If you don't want to date her at least be her friend." He added. I sighed.

"Fine." I got up and went over to Courtney, Matt, and Destiny. I smiled a decent smile. "Hey. Can I get your number." I asked Destiny. She smiled as we exchanged phone numbers. "Thanks. I'm going see if my dad will run me down to get more cigs, cause I am plastered." I waved and went to the door. As I opened the door someone bumped in to me. I looked up and saw the girl I've been avoiding all night, Snow. I moved to the side so I can let her go by.

"Hey, Aron." She said quietly as she stepped out next to me. "I wanted to ask-"

"Just because I'm being a gentle man doesn't mean I want to talk to you." I say and walk inside.

*Destiny's POV*

"Who's that girl Aron is talking to?" I asked Courtney as I looked took a sip of my cream soda.

"That is she who shall not be named aka Snow, Aron's ex. Don't worry about her though, he hates her guts." She smiled and drank from her beer.

"What happened between those two?" I asked " Was it really that bad?" I added.

"Oh it was bad, You know Ashley Purdy?" She asked.

"Oh god, she didn't." I gasped.

"Yup, while we were on tour too." She said as she glared at Snow when she walked by.

"Is that why he drinks?" I asked.

"No one knows why he drinks, but that's what I think." Courtney said, taking another drink from her beer. At that moment Christian walked out and whistled. Everyone turned to look at him as he held his red solo cup above his head. Aron walked out from behind him, looking grumpy, and walked over to us.

"What's wrong with you?" Courtney asked, with a smirk.

"Dad wouldn't drive me to get cigs." He replied.

"Poor baby." She quietly laughed. Then Christian started talking.

"Hey  everyone. Known information, it's the last night of the year. Which means that when the clock strikes midnight it's over. We've all had our hardship this year. Like the loss of our dear friend Will, may he rest in peace. But this time brings us new opportunities." He stopped to take a breath. "Like my nephew's, and soon to be niece's, wedding. Congratulations on the engagement. So with all that said I'll finish with this. The new year will bring new friends, new loves, new lives, and finally new memories." Everyone cheered. Christian waved everyone off. "Alright go get drunk." He laughed as a guy came up and put his arm around Christian's shoulder and led him off towards the food.

"The fireworks are gonna start soon, you wanna go find a place on the dock to watch?" Courtney asked us. I nodded and Matt and Aron said yeah. We made our way to the dock and we sat down at the front of it. Courtney cuddled up to Matt and Aron and I sat together next to them looking out over the water. I looked up at Aron only to see his, once again, stoic face. And then the explosion of fireworks  started causing his face to light up for small amounts of time, but it was enough time to see the hint of happiness in his eyes. I laid my head on his shoulder and watched.
