Turn, turn, coupe, arabesque, fouette, fouette, down.
"Thank you, class. Have a lovely weekend!" Mrs. Cantra speaks.
You see, Mrs. Cantra hates me, but only because I'm one her most advanced students. I like to think she doesn't actually hate me, she's just pushing me to my highest limit. I think it's one of those "I'm hard on you because I want you to do well" situations. I hope, atleast.
I take off my pointe shoes, grab my keys, and walk out of the studio. As I'm walking out, Hallie stops me.
"Laura! Are you coming to the café later? All of us are going!" she yells.
"Actually, I do-" she stops me in my sentence.
"Nevermind the question. You're coming. We're gonna celebrate your Julliard acceptance!" Alright. I was the only one out of my dance friends that were accepted in to Julliard, so I can't be rude and say no.
"Okay, I'll go I guess. We're just going to the café though, right? No 'SUPRISE! I'm taking you to a dumb party again!'? I am NOT in the mood for partying." Hallie always says we're just going one place, but then she makes me go seven million other places in one night. I feel like Santa when I go out with her. I mean, she's my best friend and we love going places together but heck, it's always like we're trying to set a record for going to the most places in one night.
Hallie laughs. "No, and I'm sorry I torture you by making you have fun," she says sarcastically. "Tonight is just You, Alexis, Marie, Talia and I."
"Alright fine, I'll go."
"See you at 7! Later, little girl!"
I get in my car and drive home from the studio. When I walk in the door, I say hi to my parents. Jessa, my little sister, follows me up to my room. I love hanging out with my little sister. She's 14 and I'm 18, but we get along well, and we're basically the same person. She likes my room better than hers because mine is more "aesthetically pleasing". Truth be told though, I think it's just because my room is a lot bigger than hers.
"What's up Jess? How was school today?" I asked her.
"So you know how formal is really soon and I said I wasn't going to go?"
"Yes, and I also remember telling you that you need to go because it's formal dumbo."
"Well, I wasn't going to go, but today Ryan asked to go with him! It was so cute. He made a sign, and brought me flowers, and other stuff that I'm too lazy to explain BUT, I'M GOING!" she did this sort of small movement happy dance that I was quite confused with, but I could tell she was really excited. Ryan is the boy that Jessa has really liked since the beginning of the year. They're friends, but Jessa always thought that Ryan liked her. 8th grade formal is literally a week away, and she just decided she wasn't going because no one asked her and all of her friends had dates. Ryan asked her today though, and I'm super happy for her.
"Oh my gosh Jess, that's awesome! I'm so happy for you!" Middle school relationships are a bit awkward, but that's just all part of life experiences. Jessa didn't say anything, she just sat with a huge grin on her face.
"Ahh middle school, how I remember the days," I giggled.
"Oh, shut up!" She playfully pushed me. I wasn't paying attention though and fell off my bed.
"Hey, that's not how you be a nice sister," I spoke. Jessa made a heart sign with her hands and smiled. I rolled my eyes and got back on my bed.
"Hey Jess, I'm going to the café later. Wanna help me pick out an outfit?" Jessa is taking fashion and cosmetic classes outside of school right now, so I figured why not ask her to test her skills and help me.
I liked the outfit she picked out, so I decided to wear it. 6:30 rolled around, so I got dressed, put my hair in a pony tail, and put on slight makeup. I walked outside around 7PM, and got in the car with my friends.
"Laura, your eyeliner looks amazing. How did you get your wing so perfect?" Alexis asked me.
"I don't know, Lex, but I guess you could say my eyeliner is on 'pointe'!" I giggled to myself, but I could immediately see the regret in her face by asking that question. Okay, it's not my fault I'm good at making bad puns. It's a blessing and a curse.
Marie pulls out her phone and opens up Snapchat. She records me and says "Tonight on the little girl diaries, Laura's Julliard café celebration!" The Little Girl Diaries huh? Creative name. "We're going to document Laura's café night on my story, guys!" Everyone groans playfully and laughs.
"Marie, you are way too obsessed with Snapchat. We have to get you away from it," Hallie tells her.
"Nooo, let me live my life Hallie!" she screams.
"It's fine, I don't mind being the star of the show," I flip my hair and wink. Marie's face looks like someone sprayed a strong perfume right in her nose.
"Oh honey, we gotta teach you how to wink." Oh whatever.
We pull up to the café, and walk in. Our friend who works here, Lucas, greets us and takes our order.
"What's the occasion girls? Birthday, someone dropped a mixtape, dance teacher gave you a solo?" he asks jokingly.
"Laura got in to Julliard Lucas!" Talia yells. Here we go. Lucas always makes a big deal out of things. He jumped straight over the café counter and pulled me in to a huge hug.
"LAURA OH MY GOD! LITTLE GIRL IS SUCH A BIG GIRL NOW! WHAT? THIS IS AMAZING!" he screams and everyone in the café is staring.
I laughed really hard, "I know Lucas, I'm so excited! But-" I breathed "If you could just, maybe let go, I might not get my lungs crushed and die." He automatically releases.
"Oops, sorry."
"It's fine dude," I smiled.
We got our drinks and sat down. We were all talking, laughing and just having fun. Something came back to my mind every now and then. "The Little Girl Diaries". It's a good name for something.

I got home, took my makeup off and hopped into bed. I opened my laptop and wrote in my ideas folder "BLOG: The Little Girl Diaries". I smiled, closed my laptop. and set it on my bed stand.
Let's see where this takes us, shall we?
