Opal's POV:
I sat in the back of the record annex watching as Edward attempted once again to 'flirt' with Kristen Kringle. It was the third time this week he'd tried to hold a conversation with her, but once again it ended with them both standing there awkwardly and Kristen waiting for someone to come and take Edward away or ask for her assistance. I sighed as I watched Edward's hopeful eyes stare at her, how I loathed Kringle. The way Eddie looks at her, the sweet words he presents her with. Why was she so cruel? Why was she just like the rest of the GCPD? Disliking poor Edward for no reason other than the fact he asks funny riddles.
"Um, Eddie I think I found something on the Miller case," I spoke up as I walked toward the both of them. We'd been helping Jim and Harvey on this case for weeks, it was a hard one but we were close. Kristen sighed in relief that she didn't have to speak to Eddie anymore and walked away but his eyes were still trained on her and he didn't answer me.
"Edward? The case..." I said again coming closer.
"Sorry, I beg your pardon?" Edward said shaking his head a little as if he'd just been pulled from a trance. Kristen Kringle was the only thing that distracted him, I don't know why he keeps trying to please her because she will never love him. I held up some files to answer Eddie's question.
"Oh, yes let's have a look," he said taking the files from my hand and leaving the room. I followed closely behind him.
Edward's POV:
"Oh, yes let's have a look," I said taking the files from Opal's hand and leaving the room. Opal was the second most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my life, her glossy blue eyes sparkled, her dark blonde waves delicately fell over shoulders, the pencil skirt, and white blouse she always wore never got old they fit her body so well it...
Nygma! Don't let your mind wander!
Opal was always kind to me she was my only friend at the GCPD. Well, probably only friend full stop. We were a great team and we always helped Jim and Harvey solve cases, even though we were only forensic examiners but without us, they would crumble.
I entered the forensic lab and quickly examined the file Opal had given me. In it was probably our biggest lead in the case yet.
"This is fantastic Opal, just wonderful! Our biggest lead yet." I exclaimed, her intelligence never ceased to amaze me. Opal always had the correct answer to my riddles and I knew she did, even though she always pretended not to.
"Thank-you," Opal replied politely, "I'll take this to Harvey and file a report."
"Terrific idea! Maybe I'll go sort out the record annex..." I replied saying the last part quietly, the record annex was a shambles, an absolute mess, I'm surprised anyone can find anything in that place.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. Kringle will cut your throat she has things the way she likes it." Opal remarked as she left the room.
Opal's POV:
Edward was always going on about how much of a mess the record annex was. I couldn't help but agree with him the order was completely insensible but Kristen had things the way she liked them and that was that. I approached Harvey's desk, Jim was already there leaning against it.
"I think you should take a look at this," I said to both of the men handing Harvey the file. Harvey opened it and took a few pages out and handed the rest of the file to Jim. Their eyes widened.
"Opal this is great!" Jim exclaimed giving me a hug, I blushed a little and hugged him back. "Let's get going then come on," Harvey said getting out of his chair and pulling his coat on. I turned to walk away and get back to the forensics lab. I noticed that Edward was stood at the bottom of the stairs glaring at Jim.
