{Hello! I've decided to start another story because I didn't really enjoy my other one haha. I'll actually try this time to write at least once every 1-2 weeks. I'm very excited about this story, and hope you enjoy! -madi}
Kurt Hummel strutted down the halls of McKinley High School with a newfound confidence.
Kurt had spent his summer in New York City, on a scholarship that he'd won in a local fashion competition. He worked with the best of the best in fashion for a whole month. He even got to showcase his designs on Vouge.com, where he also did an interview for the website.
He knew that this year was going to be different right off the bat, he was practically a celebrity. And no one messes with celebrities.
As Kurt got to his locker, he discarded his sunglasses and began to unload his backpack full of fresh supplies.
Just as he began to hang up his pictures, Rachel engulfed him in a humongous hug, one that he didn't know a girl her size could even muster.
"Kurt! I haven't seen you since before you left! How was New York? Tell me everything!" Rachel said all in one breath. Kurt didn't know how one could be so chipper. It was the first day of school for god's sake. " Shit, Rachel! Calm down!" Kurt laughed. "New York was amazing, but we can talk about me later. How's about I walk you to 1st hour?" She laughed, and they linked arms and headed to class.
Across the school, in Mr. Figgins office, Blaine Anderson sat waiting for his locker combination to be printed.
"Mr. Anderson, we are very pleased to have you here at McKinley. Here is your locker number and combination. If you ever need anything, my office door is always open." Said Mr. Figgins. Blaine finished filling out his transfer slip, and left the office.Blaine searched the hallway for his locker, and hummed to himself.
He had gained a few stared as he looked for his locker. Not many 17 year old boys wore bowties, or gelled their hair till it practically stuck to their head, but he liked to look nice. He liked to appear to people that he had his life figured out, even when he didn't.
He found his locker and proceeded to unload his items when a girl that looked about a year younger approached him. "Hi! I'm assuming that you're Blaine? I am your mentor for the day. My name is Tina by the way." She held out her hand for him to shake. Blaine gave a polite smile and shook her hand.
"You found the right guy! I am Blaine. Nice to meet you Tina." He said to the girl. The first bell rang, signifying they had 5 minutes to get to their first class. "Let me see your schedule." Tina said. "You have English first hour. My class is right next door so I'll walk you." Blaine grabbed his backpack and followed Tina to his classroom.
Tina dropped Blaine off, and went to her class, leaving Blaine all alone again. Blaine didn't mind it though. He'd had so many first days of school, at places all over the country. Blaine was a foster kid, and had been since he was 9. His parents were both arrested for substance abuse, and there weren't any alive relatives to look after him. It was hard at first, bouncing from place to place. He was always polite, but never made any real relationships because he knew that he'd have to move again.
But this time was different. In 7 months he'd be 18, and out of the foster care system. He could live on his own, wherever he chose. He wouldn't be moving before this year was over, so this was going to be his first full school year anywhere since he was nine. He was looking forward to actually making some friends this time around.
Blaine was a very charming young boy, and when looking for a seat in his classroom, he always picked the front row. He sat down in the middle of the row, and pulled his phone. He had a message from his foster mother, asking if he found his way around the school okay. He quickly replied, and put his phone away.
Kurt walked into first hour with Rachel. He spotted Mercedes and left Rachel to give her a hug. "Kurt! How's my white boy? Seems like you had a pretty eventful summer!" She said. "Oh Mercedes, it was absolutely amazing. How about a sleepover with the three of us on Friday to catch up?" The girls squealed in agreement."So what's new with you?" Kurt asked Mercedes. "Nothing new for me, but did you see the new kid? He's walking around with helmet hair, and a bowtie! Does he think that it's the 50's or something?" Kurt was instantly intrigued. He wondered what this spectacle looked like, and if he could offer any fashion advice.
The bell rang an hour signifying the end of the period, and mystery boy was still on Kurt's mind. He was determined to see what this boy looked like.
2 and 3rd periods droned on until lunch. Blaine's least favorite part of the first day. He searched the room for Tina, until she came up behind him. "Hi Blaine! I tried to find you quicker, but I got stuck in line. You want to come sit with me?" he nodded and followed her
Kurt was sitting at his usual table with most of the glee clubbers, picking at a salad. Tina was walking toward their table, with an unfamiliar face walking behind her. He heard Mercedes gasp in his ear. "That's him! Helmet hair, bowtie! he's coming over here with Tina!" He looked up and saw them getting closer.
"Hey guys! This is Blaine. He just moved here from... Wait, where did you move here from Blaine?" Tina asked. "Olympia, Washington." Blaine said shyly. "That's far! Anyways, this is Rachel, Kurt, Mercedes, Mike, and Artie. We're all in the glee club here, and there are more of us, but they're either cheerleaders or football players. Do you sing?" Tina said. Blaine perked up at the notion of a glee club. Blaine absolutely loved to sing.
"I do sing actually. At one of the schools I used to go to, I was actually the captain of the glee club. I would love to join if you have spots available!" Blaine said.
Blaine was willing to do whatever it took to get into that glee club.
{hello. sorry this is a sucky first chapter. It's 4 in the morning haha. hope this was ok lol -madi}
