Chapter 5- Nerina's gone?

Jack P.O.V~

I stood there as the guardians and the king discuss about Pitch appearance. I thought about Nerina for a moment.

I feel bad for her. She always been kept in the dark, never knowing about life nor the truth of it. If only her father understand how she feels.

"Your majesty." I called to the king, interrupting their conversation.

"What is it?" He asked. I breathed in and then out.

"I don't think what your doing to your daughter is right." I stated.The king came over, towering over me.

"Are you telling me how to raise my daughter?" He hissed. I gulped, this guy can be scary.

"I don't mean any disrespect," I explained, "but if you continue to keep secrets from her then she will ask more questions and soon enough she'll rebel and do things on her own without thinking."

The king and I stared at each other for quite a while, making the tension grow stronger in the air. Tooth suddenly came between us.

"Guys we can't discuss this now," she said, "We don't know what Pitch is up to, but we have to be prepared for it."

"Tooth is right." Bunny agreed. Sandy nodded as well. North came by the king and put his hand on his shoulder.

"Jack is also right." North said. The king sighed deeply.

"You all are right, perhaps I shou-" the king was interrupted by someone's cry. One of the king's servants came in unannounced, crying franticly.

"Your majesty! Your majesty!" She cried as she fell to her knees. Everyone looked alert and worried. The king slowly came to her and kneeled before her.

"Please calm yourself," he said kindly,"what is all this about?" The maiden sniffled.

"T-The princess is g-gone!" She exclaimed. We all gasped in shock. The king's expression changed from kindness to anger.

"What do you mean she's gone?!" The king yelled, startling the maid.

"I-I was doing m-my basic duties to check on t-the princess," she explained,"but when I went into h-her room......she was g-gone."

"Wait, how do you know for sure she's gone?" Bunny asked, "She might be somewhere in this castle."

"Yeah, she can still be here." I added. The maiden went into her pocket.

"I saw that her window was opened wide," she explained, "and I found...this."

She slowly took her hand out her pocket and revealed a folded piece of paper. She hand it to the king and he slowly opened it.

We all gathered around to see it. As soon as we saw the entire note, my eyes widened in shock.

Since you can't tell me the truth, then I'm finding out for myself.

"I'm so sorry!" She cried. The king stood up.

"It's no one's fault," the king said, "but my own." He turned to us and looked at us with pleading eyes.

"We need to find her, she couldn't gotten far." He stated. North called for his yetis.

"here's what were going to do," North explained, "Tooth and Sandy, go search in the sky in the south and east."

"Yes sir!" Tooth answered while Sandy saluted. With that, both Tooth and Sandy flew off out the window.
