+ Christina's POV +
---
We both begin to make our way to the front of the prison, to the gate.
Carl stays close to me, on my left side, and his left hand glued to his gun, which is in his holster.
"Carl it's okay, we are inside the gates. There's no walkers around." I reassure him, smiling lightly at the thought of Carl protecting me.
"Yeah well that's what's going on now." He mumbles, wrapping his right arm around my waist and pulling me closer than I already was.
I smile and notice Beth and Marie by the gate, giggling and acting completely different. Gosh Marie reminds me of some snobby spoiled rich girl right now.
"Okay let's go." Carl mumbles, still looking uneasy about our surroundings.
"Yeah whatever," Marie says, eyeing Carl up and down.
I roll my eyes and scoff quietly, Carl's grip tightening on my waist. Beth looks at me and Carl, raising her eyebrow expectantly- and I raise my eyebrow right back at her.
"Well?" She sasses, "are you going to open the gate or what?"
I roll my eyes and grimace, walking over to the rope of the gate doors and yanking it down, opening the gate.
Marie and Beth saucer through it and Carl waits, not moving from where he was before. I walk toward him, and link my left arm with his right one- walking us both out of the gate.
Carl stands where I left him while I close the first gate, and open the second. I walk back to his- strangely- emotionless figure and wrap my fingers around his, holding his hand.
I walk us outside the gate and close the gate. The four of us walk west, towards the mall.
I glance up at Carl, worriedly, and he has his eyes locked forward. I hesitantly tug on his arm a bit, and he instantly looks down at me.
"Are you okay?" I whisper, concern lacing my voice. He nods.
"Yeah, I just really hate them." He grumbles, glaring at the two girls a few feet in front of us. He intertwines our fingers and squeezes my hand reassuringly.
I giggle and nod, leaning my head on his bicep, and looking up at the sky.
Once we arrive at the -surprisingly- intact mall, Carl grabs his knife and opens the door, holding it open for Marie and Beth. Me and him walk in after, side by side.
Marie and Beth instantly start grimacing and scoffing, talking with a nasty tone permanently intact in their voices.
"What a dump." Beth emphasizes, looking around with a sour look. I check the place out, the weeds lightly brushing in between the tiles and the sunlight gazing through the dirty and dusty ceiling windows- while it shines clearly through the holes in which a glass piece has fallen to the ground, say 30 feet below.
I purse my lips and look around, at the stores, in front of us is a rusty escalator- which, of course, doesn't work. To my right is a few dress shops and other various clothes shops. To my left, lie many shops such as Academy, Gander Mt., and other useful companies.
The girls run into Victoria's Secret and Lush, while I roll my eyes and start walking towards Gander Mt.
Carl growls, surprising me, and soon rushes to my side, gently- yet sternly- gripping my arm and turning me towards his slightly rage-ful eyes.
"What the hell-?" I start to ask but Carl harshly cuts me off.
"Stay by me." He growls out, "I mean it, Christina."
"O-Okay.. I will, Carl... Please, you're hurting me..." I murmur, trying to twist my arm out of his gradually intensifying grip.
He instantly let's go, his eyes wide with shock and a mix of worry. I purse my lips and step back, hiding my face in my hair.
"Christina- I'm sorry-- I- I didn't know.." He desperately tries to convince me- of what might be the truth.
I keep my head low, not looking up once. He hesitantly inches toward me, his large and lean frame making me drool internally.
His long and masculine fingers crawl under my chin and tilt it upwards, so I'm looking him dead in the eye.
"What happened to you?" He whispers, moving his fingers and palm to my cheek. He uses his other hand to tuck a strand of my hair behind my ear.
My glassy eyes close as my bottom lip trembles. His smooth finger pad moves over my lip, stopping it from moving softly.
"M-My--My dad-" I stutter cowardly, a few tears soaking my cheeks.
"Shh," he purrs, pulling me into a heart-warming hug, "you can tell me when your ready."
I sniffle and wrap my small fists around his shirt, pressing my face into the soft fabric and lovely smell of his cologne- which I'm surprised he still owns.
He kisses my head and intertwines our hands again, pulling me into Gander Mt.
We grab many sweaters, guns, rifles, knifes and other safety supplies.
After we are finished, we walk out and check on the girls. We walk into Lush, and not to my surprise, they are trying on dresses. Dresses. Prom dresses in the freaking apocalypse.
"Really guys? You can't take this serious for one second?" I scoff, throwing my free hand up, and causing their attention to go to me.
"Your the one who is all strict and up tight! Let loose and have fun- jeesh!" Beth shrieks, rolling her eyes. I scoff and roll my eyes, crossing my arms after letting go of Carl's hand.
He growls softly and wraps his arm around my waist, his hand falling onto my hip bone.
"Whatever. We are going to go get more supplies from Academy." I say, turning with Carl still wrapped around me.
"If by supplies you mean condoms." Marie scoffs, making my heart ache at the memory of her kindness.
I spin around and glare at her harshly, hating how much she's changed and how rude and snobby she is.
"You can fuck off, Marie!" I pipe, before turning around again and walking into Academy.
Carl walks with me, staying close at all times. After we've finished gathering what we need, we go back into Gander to gather our weapons, and everything that we could get.
And now? Now we get to go back and probably get yelled at. Oh, and get walker guts splattered across us.
