Her back was laying against the soft grass of the moonlit earth, simply stargazing. Pointing out the constellations to herself, feeling a sense of joy for once in the longest time. Erika had always felt a strong connection with the sky and the earth, almost magical. Her delicate fingers ran up and down the patches of grass ever so slowly, almost as if she was calming it. She closed her eyes to rest her never quiet mind, not even five seconds later bursting open with a start. A small animal was rustling the bushes, it was too small to be a fox.. "A cat?" she whispered.
She clicked her tongue and spoke in a soft sweet voice "Here kitty kitty," trying to befriend the feline. It didn't hesitate to greet her, making her quite shocked. She rubbed behind the delicate animal's ears making it erupt in purrs and affection. It had midnight black fur, snow white paws and shining jade eyes. It mewed softly, like a kitten making it even cuter in Erika's mind, it walked onto her lap making itself comfortable and warming her cold thighs. She glanced at her watch realizing it was 11:57pm, and she had school in the morning!
"Oh crap," she muttered looking down at the cat, not wanting to abandon it and not sure if she could hide it from her parents... At her small house her parents weren't in sight, possibly not even home. Rushing to her room for no reason, she places her tote on the foot of the large bed, unzipping it and a small friendly face hops onto the blanket. Erika smiled to herself petting the cat again, "I wonder if you're a boy or a girl," the cat mewed, and she looked puzzled for a moment. Could this cat really understand her? "I'll call you kitten for now..."
