Natsu was running now. Lucy had told him where Gray was and the dragon slayer wasted no time to go find him.

Natsu's throat tightened when he reached the town square.

There on the major tree in the center of the town was Gray—chained by his wrists hanging on the tree with his head lowered. He was badly wounded. His pale body had been beaten and was stabbed directly in his fairytail emblem. Blood and bruises covered him.

Natsu felt as though his blood was boiling. He gripped his hands into fists as he shakily made his way through the crowd of people surrounding the chained boy.

No one was sure how to get him down—or who had put him in this state in the first place.

Natsu screamed for his little blue exceed—along with getting some odd looks from townspeople.

Happy flew over, and seeing Gray he knew what to do. He flew Natsu up to where the ice Mage was chained and with much force—Natsu was able to break him free from the chains. Gray's unconscious body fell on to Natsu. Happy slowly lowered the two boys down. Natsu carrying Gray. He couldn't help but notice how cold and frail Gray's delicate body felt. It made him even angrier. He was going to burn whoever did this to him.

Natsu carried Gray's surprisingly light body, to the guilds infirmary. Many gasps and whispers were heard along the way.

When Natsu brought him over, Gray's wounds were cleaned wrapped—and Natsu was told there was nothing else they could do.

Natsu sat by his bedside and when he was left alone he finally let his emotions pour through. Tears rimmed the edges of his eyes. He took Gray's cold hand in his own.

"Gray. . . I'm so—I'm so sorry." Natsu squeezed his eyes shut as tears fell. He held Gray's hand to his lips.

"If only I was with you—you wouldn't have—this  wouldn't  have—" Natsu's shoulders shook as he silently sobbed. Still holding Gray's small hand.

Minutes past and Natsu's crying subdued. Although his guilt didn't leave.

Natsu felt fingers slightly wiggle in his palm. He looked up.

"Hey you're getting my hand all sweaty." A familiar dry voice spoke.

"Gray?"

"How's it going?" Gray asked ironically.

"I should be asking you." Natsu smiled.

"Meh" Gray replied shrugging "I've had better days."

Natsu laughed he bent down and hugged Gray. "I'm glad you're ok." He whispered.

Natsu lifted his face only a little.

"Do. . .um, do you forgive me?" Gray said looking to the side.

Natsu leaned down and connected there lips.

"I don't know what I could do without you snowflake."
