I'm changing the legal age to drive in England to 16 so I can make it easier.

Lizzy's POV

Today is the first day of Year 8 and I'm actually terrified. I'm standing at the bus stop with 4 other people from my neighborhood, but they're all younger than me. Olivia is in Year 6, and Justin is in Year 5. I mean at least Olivia and Justin will be in the same school.

The bus soon comes to a stop and we all get on. I sit near the middle and get my headphones out along with my phone. The bus stops a few more times until the seats start filling up. This girl who looks to be the same age as me comes and sits by me on the bus.

"You might want to put that away." She says. I look at her in confusion.

"Why?" I ask.

"They'll take it away. You can't have it out on the bus." She says. I take my headphones out and put them in my bag. "Lila by the way." She says.

"Lizzy." I answer.

"Are you new here? I've never seen you on this bus."

"Yeah, I've been home schooled until now. I'm in Year 8."

"Me too. I mean I'm in Year 8, I haven't been home schooled." She says. I laugh slightly. The lights come on at the next stop so the people can see to get on the bus. I finally get a good look at her. She has short brown hair, and almond shaped brown eyes. (I added her picture so). "Why have you been home schooled?"

"Um..." I don't know if I should tell her if my parents are famous or not. "No particular reason. What kind of music do you listen to?" I change the subject quickly.

"I like Arctic Monkeys, Twenty One Pilots, Panic! At The Disco, and Fall Out Boy. I mean I listen to more than that that's just like the basics." She says. I smile.

"Those are my favorite bands oh my god." I say excitedly.

"Really? I have a lot of friends who listen to music like that. You should meet them. What's your schedule?" She asks, getting out her class schedule. I hand her mine as she checks our classes. "We have first block and third together." She hands me mine back.

"Good, I was scared that I wouldn't make many friends." I say, laughing.

"You're really pretty and you would be friends with the cool kids if I didn't reach you first." She says, laughing.

"Oh thank god." We both laugh.

We get to school about 10 minutes later. She guides me through this door and into the busy school. We walk father in and I see a group of guys, one guy has red hair and I stop. "Look at him." I say. Lila stops and follows the direction of my eyes.

"He's Year 10. Don't even think about it." She says. His eyes leave his friends and he glances at me. Before he can do anything Lila takes my arm and pulls me away. "Okay. You can't have your phone on the bus, but you can have it out here until the first bell for class rings."

"When is that?"

"7:14." She says.

"Why not 7:15? 14 is such a specific number." I laugh slightly as she shrugs her shoulders. We go into the library where it is much quieter. We walk to a group of people. One guy has bright yellow hair, and another guy has a pink streak in his hair. There are a few other people here but those are the ones Lila led me to first.

"This is Steel." She points to the yellow haired guy. "He's Year 11. That's Zoe, she is Year 11 too." She points to the one with pink in her hair.

"Really? You look to be my age." I laugh.

"I get that a lot." She says.

I sit and talk with them for 15 minutes. They're all really cool people, and they like a lot of the things I like. The bell for first block finally rings and I make my way with Lila. We walk into honors English and sit in a random spot.

All of school is boring, so there is nothing to talk about there. After 4th block I walk to the bus loop to find my bus, but since I stayed behind to talk to some people they all start to leave. I groan in frustration.

"What's wrong?" I hear someone behind me say. I turn around and see the red headed kid from earlier.

"I couldn't find my bus." I say, sort of embarrassed.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I could drive you home. Where do you live?"

"I'm sure you have other things to do. I mean you're a Year 10. Wait aren't you 15?" I ask.

"16, I failed 8th." He says, laughing.

"Oh, I'm only 13 haha."

"Well, I don't have anything to do. Maybe we can go to Starbucks and I can take you home." He says. I nod, following him to his car. "Oh yeah, my name is Wil. With one L. It's weird."

"I'm Lizzy." I smile at him.

I get in his car and he hands me the AUX cord. "You can listen to anything you want, as long as it isn't country."

"I listen to emo stuff." I say.

"Oh I do too!" He says. I smile and press a Fall Out Boy as he turns his car on and we speed out of the parking lot. It shocks me so I gasp and hold onto the handle of the car door. He starts laughing and I reach over and hit him.

"Asshole!" I scream.

I arrive home with my Starbucks. I thank Wil then close his car door and walk inside my house where my dad is sitting on the couch on his laptop. "Hey! How was school?" He asks.

"Good." I say, throwing my bag down and running upstairs.
