The car rolls into the parking lot, outside the building for Dad's funeral. My eyes scan the familiar vehicles of my family. I sigh and run a hand through my hair, and as Dylan parks the car, I climb out. He comes around to my side and wraps an arm around my side, in a comforting way.

I keep my eyes down while walking in, afraid to see all the pain and misery all bunched up in one place. The building is quite big, with many rooms. Thankfully, we find Dad's room and slowly step in. I stop and Dylan looks at me, "Av?..." I nod, hoping he wouldn't see through my lie. He nods, and let's go of me, shooting me one last look before he disappears into our family. I let out a breath I didnt know I was holding and quickly run to a bathroom.

My heels clicked on the hard floor of the bathroom, causing more noise than I wanted. I gripped the sink and huffed in frustration.

You shouldn't be running away.

Dad would want you to be there for everyone else.

Shakily, I splashed a little water on my face, careful not to ruin my makeup. The bathroom door squeaked and a figure walked in. I jerked around, surprised, but instantly relaxed when I saw my great aunt, Sherry.

"Sherry," I breathed. She smiled and opened her arms. I ran into them, hugging her as tight as I could. She was the main family member I trusted enough to tell all my problems to. The one who understood everything.

"How'd you know?" I asked her. Her arms tightened around me, "I just did, sweetheart. I went through the same thing you're going through. I know how it feels." She spoke quietly. I fought back tears, this feeling overwhelming me to the core.

We stood there for a few more minutes, until she let go, and wiped a single tear off my face. Smiling, Sherry gripped my hand and gave me a look that said 'Are you ready?' I nodded. She let out a breath and led me out of the bathroom, towards the other room.

A chilly breeze runs across my bare arms. I don't bother to wipe the tears falling from my red cheeks. The funeral is over and most of the family has left, and now, I'll have to go, too. Paparazzi will want pictures and I'm not letting them see me.

I just stand there, though. My feet are frozen, and my eyes are locked on Dad's casket. I was aware of Cody, my boyfriend, briefly hugging me and kissing my cheek before saying he had to leave because of his schedule.
Suddenly, a hand is placed on my cold arm.
"I know it's hard, Av-", his voice cracks. Dylan. "B-but we h-have to go..."

That was it. The final straw, until I burst into tears. Hard sobs racking my body, as Dylan picks me up bridal style and carries me to his car. I scream and curse, yelling for him to put me down.
"DYLAN! PUT ME DOWN! I WILL NOT LEAVE HIM!" I kick and hit is arms, "DYLAN! PL-", my voice gives out, finally. Slumping in his arms, I take a shaky last look at the casket, then everything starts to get blurry.

I block everything out.

Hoping I can dream this all away.

Make the pain in my heart leave, and get Daddy back.

My thoughts scream at me, telling me the truth.

That it'll never be the same.

But even so, I try to wish it away, and hold onto all I have left as my heart shatters and I fall away into darkness.
