So I just watched Star Wars VII, and lets just say:
Even though I didn't understand most of the references to the other movies it was amazing!!!I also called the plot twist, just sayin' it's a dead giveaway if you use logic.
SPOILER ALERT!!! (You've been warned)
• I'm sure there is a scene in the first or second movie where Anikin and someone from the dark side were standing on a bridge type thing, like Solo and his son were. The dark side guy brutally harms the good guy, then is thrown over the edge. Which happens in both scenes, the only difference is that Hans is killed and Anikin becomes Darth Vader, besides that there really isn't anything that much different (yes it's in different points in time but besides that there aren't that I can think of at the time)• by the time the Suns existence is nothing, you can see the look in the sons eyes that shows he was faking the whole thing about wanting to change and that him tearing up was just to get his father to believe he's changed, but it was just a gag to get him to trust the son.
• logically speaking:
If you were raised to think one way practically your whole life then (to you) this strange person with the complete opposite beliefs wants you to drop everything you've been taught, and everything you've learned from a young age. Would you do it?
Even if you trusted this man because he was directly related to you, you don't change your whole prospective on life because one person said so?!?! No you wouldn't.On a completely different note:
Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars VII are a lot alike.1) Characters
Ray: a child taken from her parents at a young age, and is stuck scavenging for bits and pieces to trade for food, at adult hood finds something that could be traded for food but declines, ends up teaming up with a group of people and ends up finding something larger then what she expected, then ends up killing the main threat to most people at the time, then ends up saving the Galaxy.Star Lord: a child taken from his parents after he runs away due to his mothers death at a young age taken by the Ravagers whom "steal from everyone" which is what Ray does in SWVII while raiding the stranded ship for parts to trade for for food, also the ravergers wanted to eat him!! Which could easily be related to the pain Ray goes through (emotional and physical) during the movie (the emotional/physical stress and or pain eating away at her knowing her parents aren't coming back). In adult hood finds the "space stone" which can be used to travel through space, ends up meeting Rocket, Gamora, Groot, and Drax, then defeating Ronin, saving the Galaxy.
Chewbaca: a love able creature that slightly resembles a dog/ bear type thing. That provides some comical relief, which almost no one in the movie can understand.
Groot: a love able creature that looks like a tree with human features (legs, arms, vocal cords ect.), that provides comical relief because the only line spoken from him is "I am Groot.", the only person who can decipher that (using the tone of his voice and the situation) is Rocket.
Finn: a storm trooper that eventually helps destroy the bad guys, taken from his family and turned into a fighting machine
Rocket: (from what we know from the movie) was "ripped apart then put back together" which could refer to Finn being taken from his naïveness and put into a man that only thinks about war (for a stereotypical Storm Trooper), he originally only thought about himself but then throws himself at Ronin after Ronin kills Groot.
C3P0: a well known face that pops up with a RED arm instead of his other one, is a robot so most metaphors or other figures of speech would go over his head
Drax: a green alien with RED tattoos (I think that's what those are, but they are elevated so I don't know, it's still RED and not black or blue), doesn't understand most metaphors and figures of speech (even though he says "I think of them as paper people" WHICH IS A METAPHOR!!!!!)
Laea: a brave warrior type princess, has ties with the other side (her son), knows her way around a war room
Gamora: A FEMALE WARRIOR!!!, knows many people on the other side (Thanos, Ronin, her adopted sister, heck the plan wouldn't even be able to function if Gamora wasn't there!!), has been in many (you would think) wars, or enough to understand Ronin's war tactic.
2) plot
Star Wars: a rag tag group of (mostly) untrained people go against a larger group, ends up meeting a group of people who can help the cause (defeating the bad guys) and ends up winning in the end
GotG: a group of people mostly trained go against a larger group (Ronin and his supporters), they meet a group that can help (The Ravergers and the Nova Core) and end up winning in the end
