"There we have it ladies and gentlemen, 18-year-old Lauren Jauregui has done it again! Scoring the first goal of the game and putting the U.S Women's National team in a 1-0 lead against Germany in the 29th minute."
The crowd was wild, it was a home game after all. Fans of all ages crowded the stands to get a glimpse at their favorite players. Everyone was decked out in the red,white and blue; signs with players names on them floating around the stand.
Lauren took a deep breath and smiled as she walked back to the center circle, looking around at all the fans screaming her name.
This is the feeling she's wanted since she was eleven years old.
Her teammates all patted her on the back and gave her congratulating hugs but they knew the battle wasn't over year. Germany was in the top five ranked women's teams in the world, the US being number one of course.
"Goal! Number 10 Lauren Jauregui. Assist from number 13 Alex Morgan!" The announcer said, the stands once again irrupting into cheers.
The center referee blew her whistle and they were off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When that final whistle blew at the 94th minute, Lauren wanted to collapse. Her lungs were on fire and every inch of her body ached. If she shut her eyes for just long enough Lauren would fall into a deep sleep. But instead, she jogged off the field to the sidelines with the rest of her team and grabbed a water from the trainer, downing the whole thing in record time.
Everyone was congratulating her, granted she scored the only goal, and winning, goal of the game.
Lauren threw the water bottle into the garbage and placed her hands on her hips, looking around the stands as fans left and some crowded the railings in hopes of getting an autograph from their favorite players.
"Here's a sharpie. I'll be behind you. You have twenty minutes before Jill wants to talk to you all inside." Lauren thanked the guard and took the sharpie with a smile, trying to decide how to get to as most fans as she could.
Lauren and the guard walked across the field and all the young girls started shouting her name. She waved excitedly to them and they screamed even louder. She saw a little girl holding her jersey and decided to go their first.
"Hi sweetie! Thanks for coming! Did you have fun?" Lauren asked and she could see the little girl nodding her head rapidly, the mother behind her snapping pictures. "Hold the jersey tight okay?" Lauren popped open her sharpie and quickly signed her signature.
"Can I have a picture?" The little one asked shyly. Lauren nodded and stood on her toes so she could be face-level with the girl. "Thank you!" The little girl beamed when the photo was taken.
"Of course, but promise me to never give up on your dreams okay?" Lauren put out her pinky finger and winked at the little girl. She connected it and nodded her head.
Alright, one fan down, hundred more to go.
Twenty minutes later Lauren had signed jerseys, posters, tickets, napkins, everything. She had taken tons of pictures and made so many little girls dreams. As she walked through the tunnel leading off the field, she gave one last wave to the fans and slowly their cheers died down.
"Mommy!" Lauren couldn't even look to find her daughter when she felt a little collision on her leg.
"Hey princess, did you have fun?" Savannah nodded into her mothers thigh and looked up at her mom, smiling and showing her four front teeth.
"Savannah, what did mommy tell you about running off from me?" Lauren looked up and saw her beautiful girlfriend standing just a couple of feet away, her hip cocked to one side and her hands on her hips.
"I sorry."
Camila sighed and walked towards the two, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend and giving her a kiss. "Great game superstar." Camila pushed some loose strands off of her girlfriend's forehead and kissed her again.
"Mama 'potle?" The two-year old tugged at her mama's jersey, trying to get her attention.
"Anna, let mama shower and then we can go get Chipotle, okay?" Camila reasoned with her daughter, picking her up and kissing her forehead.
Savannah nodded and pointed at her mama. "Stinky!" Camila laughed and nodded in agreement with her daughter.
"I'll be quick, no worries. Can't let my little princess starve!" Lauren said, exaggerating her words before ruffling her daughters long, brown hair.
"Babe, your parents invited us for dinner but I told them about your phone interview tonight so we're going tomorrow after your recovery"
Lauren yawned while nodding. "I'll see you at the hotel." Lauren pulled her girlfriend in for one last kiss and an ass squeeze before pushing her away.
"See ya soon superstar."
