now this theory was developed right after i spoke to one of my friends, and we noticed a few parallels in texas pt.3 and the new year.
when farkle confronts riley about her feelings for lucas, the montage went through a bunch of moments they shared, but riley was still considering maya's possible feelings.
R: (asks farkle) "what about maya?"
after it shows a montage of the banter between lucas and maya, it goes back to show farkle and riley on the steps outside of topanga's..

F: "i'm not really sure how maya feels."
R: "you're not sure..how can you not be sure?"
this moment seem to stick out to me a lot. riley says it like he SHOULD know, and his face right after she says it seems like he's a bit lost himself. then he totally disregards her feelings and continues on just focusing on riley.

SEE THIS HESITATION WHEN HE SAYS IT?? IT'S ALMOST LIKE HE'S HIDING SOMETHING AND IS QUICKLY COVERING IT UP BY PUSHING IT TO THE SIDE, AND FOCUSING ENTIRELY ON THE WHOLE RILEY/LUCAS SITUATION.
NOW ONTO GM THE NEW YEAR..
when everyone is at topanga's and farkle pulls riley outside to talk to her about the same thing, riley is still saying that maya stepped back and allowed her to have something with lucas, and farkle responds in this way,
F: "you don't know that, you don't know how she feels..(I) don't think she knows how she feels."

HE KEEPS INCLUDING HIMSELF WHEN IT COMES TO MAYA'S FEELINGS, SAYING THAT HE DOESN'T THINK SHE'S DOING THIS AND TELLING RILEY THAT SHE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND MAYA FEELINGS. IT MAKES ME BELIEVE THAT HE KNOWS MORE THAN HE LET'S ON.
