Falling,screaming,silence.
Tears streaming and cries echoing,
Blood and tears,
Falling, screaming,silence.

Two bodies on the circus floor,
Two blood covered bodies,
Two dead bodies,
Two bodies on the circus floor ,

A sad day at the circus,
A snapped trapeze,
A crying child,
A sad day at the circus.

"Ahh!"Robin shot up,he was in his room at the titans tower,he looked at his clock 4:17am.
He was breathing heavily and covered in cold sweats, there were tears in his bright blue eyes.
He wiped the tears away lied back down.
He took a deep breath in "I might be able to see the sunrise" he whispered to himself with a hint of hope in his voice, but still pain.
He slowly got out of his bed and grabbed his mask, not only would it hide his identity but it would hide the tear marks, that were clearly around his eyes.

The dream that had been haunting him for years came again the falling, the screaming and the crying.
It was April 1st, the anniversary of the day of his parents...demise
and the start of his pain, the pain that would never go away.

Robin brushed his teeth, gelled his hair, put on his usual traffic light coloured uniform,
it was almost identical to the one he had on at the circus

"Is it nice?" His loving mother asked him, eyes gleaming with happiness and long ginger hair in a neat plat.
"It's bright"a young eight year old replied,he had raven black hair and beautiful sky blue eyes
"But do you like it?"his father asked putting a strong hand on his sons shoulder eyes having a similar gleam,
"I look like a traffic light....but I guess it could be worst"the little boy said with a mischievous grin on his face

The uniform brought back so many bad memories, terrible ones, but it honoured his parents, his inspiration.
Robin sighed and stared to the horizon,as the sun came up turning the sky different colours, beautiful colours ,reds, oranges, yellows against a cloudless light blue sky,if it had been any other day,it could have been perfect .He was on the roof of the titans tower, legs dangling over the edge.Robin stayed there until the sun fully came up"I don't know if I'm gonna be able to do this" he whispered to himself as he got up and walked towards the door.

                                                                                 -------------------------

Robin got out a bowl and pored in some cereal, crockey crunch

"Mami what's that?"a six year old Dick Grayson asked his mum, pointing to a cereal box
"It's crockey crunch I've been eating it since I was younger than you,do you want some?"
A small nod was given"please"

Everything ,even cereal, was reminding Robin of the......day they fell, the day everything seemed to fall apart.
He took a deep breath in,it was the same every year ,but this time there was no Barbra,no Alfred,no Bruce to help him.
The titans didn't know about his past, he was alone in this battle,Raven knew about his deepest pain, but she didn't know it was today,it had been years but the scars run deep and those scars would never heal.

"Hey Robin"Beastboys cheery voice said, snapping him out of his thoughts

"Your my little robin"Mary Grason softly said to her son
"Like the bird?"he replied
"We could always call you the flying squirrel "his father,John, said with a chuckle
"Robin's fine"the young boy said while holding his hands in a surrender motion.

"Oh,hey"Robin said giving a fake smile,he put his bowl away and started walking off,he wasn't ready to face his team, not yet anyway.Cyborge came in and walked straight to the fridge followed by Starfire then Raven,he gave pained smile, but no one noticed ,he headed to his room and didn't look back,it was a place he could be alone, alone with thoughts, alone with his memories, both happy and sad.

"Where's Robbie going?"Cyborge said as he looked through the fridge for some brackfast,
"Don't know dude, but today's April fools day so I can have some fun"Beastboy said rubbing his hands together and having an evil smile on his face"please, what is the day of April fools?" Starfire questioned, Beastboy and began to explain it to her,Raven wasn't lisaning to there conversation she was worried, worried about Robin, there was so much emotion,so much pain radiating off of him ,it was almost in waves.

Robin sat on a chair facing a wall in his room,it had some posters on it of heroes, villains and right in the centre,in pride of place was a poster advertising the 'Hailys international traveling circus, home of the fearless flying Grasons' and on it was a family of three, a woman with ginger hair a tall man with Raven black hair were stood side by side and in front of them an eight year old boy with raven black hair and bright blue eyes they were on a platform of a trapeze all smiling, they looked happy. Two small tear escaped Robins eyes, one a tear of happiness because of all the fun times he had a circus, the other sadness and pain because of all the memories he could of had ,and the reality of never seeing his parents again.

He took off his domino mask and put it on a nearby chest of draws and slowly stood up and walked over to a shelf, right at the back was a red shoe box,he sat back down and opened it ,there was a bright coloured soft toy elephant in it and a note attached to it,it read:

Happy birthday our little robin,
This elephant is from a far away land and the bright colours on it will protect you from the dark,
He's called peanut,
Love your Mami and Tati

Robin took the small toy out of the box a held it close to his chest ,another tear fell.
He put the small toy on the floor and the note with it,he then got out a scrapbook from the box,it was old and had a few pages left in it,Robin opened it and saw a photo of two acrobats preforming on the trapeze and writing that said ,our first show together ,he flicked through the to see a wedding scene, his mother in a beautiful white gown, hair in a bun and his father in a suit, our wedding day.A few pages later a baby boy held in his fathers strong arms ,our little Robin, towards the end of the book a picture of the whole circus the ringmaster, strongmen, clowns, fire breathers, sword eaters and finally the trapeze artists ,our family.

Robin smiled as he thought of the day the picture was taken,it was such a good day,but all  good things have to come to an end.
