April pains day

Shattered

Robin put the scrapbook,note and small toy elephant in the box and smiled sadly,he put the box on the shelf and sat back on the chair,how did something make him so happy and sad at the same time?

Lady's and Gentlemen,boys and girls,children of all ages!I present to you the fearless flying Grasons as always preforming their daring feats without the safety of a net!

He began to stare at the poster of his family,getting lost in thought.

"Shouldn't Robbie be back by now?" cyborg asked,eyes still glued to the T.V both robotic and real,
"Yeah if he doesn't come soon then it'll be twelve o'clock ,and everyone knows on April fools you can only fool people to twelve o'clock otherwise your the fool"Beastboy said while mixing together some sort of pink gunk
"Beastboy you are a fool,there would be no change no matter what time you pranked him "Raven said glaring daggers at Beastboy after a certain incident with salt and sugar.""I'll go get him"Cyborg said in a cheery voice.

The only smile Robin ever had on was either a fake smile,a smile of pain ,a smile of saddest or a real smile,but he only had a real smile when he was truly happy,but today he wasn't,so to put on that fake smile hurt because when he was younger he never stopped smiling.

"RUN!!!"a little boy screamed with a plastic water pistle in his hand ,sprinting as fast as he could with his mum "if he catches us I'm saying it was your idea"he said and she laughed "I told you not to squirt your Tati when he was sleeping "she said while looking back to see her husband very wet and chasing after them with waterbombs

But that smile faded after.....his parents fell,he always tried to hide it with a fake smile and a fake laugh,but what no one knew was that the little ball of energy,with cleaver lines and always knew how to cheer someone up ,was broken,shattered and he could never be fixed.

Knock knock

The sound of someone knocking at his door snapped Robin out of his thoughts.

"Hey Robbie, wanna train?"Robin recognised the voice of Cyborg,he knew three was something off because Cyborg never wanted to train,so either they knew or ....

"I love April fools,it's the best day of the year!"a seven year old Dick Grayson said
"Even better than Christmas,your birthday?"his mother replied
"On Christmas there're no shows and I love the shows,but on April fools I can prank all I want and not get told off for it,but my birthday is a close second"he said back,his mother laughed and he started thinking of the time he put a neon wig on one of the strongmen and they thought it was their actual hair.

....It was April fools day.Robins ex-favourite day of the year,he'd stopped celebrating it because it was the on the same day his parents fell,the memory he just had was just a year before that.

"Rob?Hello?" even though he wasn't ready to face his team and he knew that Cyborg was up to something,Robin needed a distraction,he wiped away his tears and put his mask and opened the door "yeah Cy?"he said trying to hide the obvious pain in his voice"are you okay,you don't look yourself"Cyborg said with worry"fine, just tired and I have a bit of a headache" he gave another fake smile,it wasn't like he lied he was very tired from the lake of sleep the nightmares had given him and all mental pain he was having was giving him a slight headache.

"Well I was going to ask you if you wanted to train but if you have a headache then-"Cyborg was cut of by Robin"no it's fine it's just a headache,I fought scarecrow with a broken arm once"Robin said while heading to the training room.

Cyborg was firing his sonic cannon at Robin,who was flipping and cartwheeling out of the way,little did cyborg know that with every flip or cartwheel Robin did he was reminding himself that Mami tort me that or Tati showed me how to do that,after fifteen minutes Cyborg gave up on trying to hit Robin,"good dodging" he said"thanks,nice shooting"Robin said ,trying to stop the smile from leaving his face and trying even harder to stop tearing up.Cyborg left the room to go back to the TV.Robin got his water bottle and left as well.

Robin was on the way back to his room when Beastboy jumped in front of him"hey Rob-"he was cut off "I'm not in the mood for pranks Beastboy"Robin said simply,the smile had left his face,"how did you know I was going to prank you?"Beastboy asked puzzled but Robin didn't answer he just walked past him and opened the door to his room "Then don't-"splat"-open the door"
Robin was covered head to toe with a pink slime and Beastboy sped off.

Robin got out of the shower and got changed ,but not in his usual uniform,he was planning on going somewhere for a while,he was in a pair of trainers,a green hoodie,a black jacket,a pair of black skinny jeans and a pair of dark sunglasses hiding his eyes,he also hadn't bothered to gel his hair,it was left messy,to the place he was going,he was going as Dick Grayson not Robin.

He put his utility belt with his communicator in it under his jumper, and his civilian phone in his pocket, he was expected a call of an old friend.

"Somethings gotta be wrong,I pranked him and he looked more sad than angry"Beastboy said ,the team had been discussing about Robins odd behaviour "for the entire time we were training he had a fake smile on and looked close to tears,he said he had a headache and was tired,but it's got to be something more than that"Cyborg said"when I entered the kitchen I saw friend Robin 'zone out' ,correct? Starfire said and the others nodded"and friend Robin is never the zoning out"she finished "there was so much pain and sadness in his emotions"Raven said "Rae you should talk to him"Beastboy said"BB you said something smart"Cyborge said surprised "what no,I'm not good with feelings"she said putting down her book"and Starfires his best friend"she finished "but friend Raven you are like his sister"Starfire sweetly "fine"

Robin grabbed a small backpack with a few things in and left his room,he walked down the hallway towards the front door "ahhh!intruder!" Robin turned around to see Beastboy charging at him he stepped out of the way a Beastboy flew into the wall,"It's me"Robin said "ROBIN?"Beastboy questioned and Robin nodded"you have something other than your traffic light thing"he asked generally surprised "yeah and I have to go."Robin walked out of the door and the other titans turned up"are we going to follow him?"Beastboy asked"somethings been bothering him,most likely in his personal life,which we all know Robin likes to keep a secret"Raven said,worried for her little brother,she'd seen his pain,known what he'd been through,but she didn't know everything and Robin wanted to keep it that way"but we are going to follow him"Cyborg asked "not now,he wouldn't want us to"Raven said the boys and Starfire looked disappointed "but later"Raven said,she wanted to know what was going on just as much as they did.
