--Weeks Later--
Rach POV
We have been in England for the past 2 weeks, staying in the same nice hotel. The whole experience so far has been quite enjoyable for myself. So far, it's alright. I met a good dealer, but hadn't met a guy yet. It was almost depressing.
Today, I walked back to the hotel after doing some grocery shopping to find Jess and Mel, both laying on the bed with their heads hanging off the edge. They were scrolling through their phones, and I could tell they were utterly bored.
'Hey you girls wanna do something?' I asked as I put away the few pieces of fruit I bought along with the milk and bread.
They both looked at me curiously. 'Like what?' asked Mel. Jess turned back to her phone.
'I dunno, we could go to the city?' I suggested, giving Jess a glance over. I could barely read that girl. It was so hard to tell what she was feeling.
'We've already been three times,' sighed Mel, also turning back to her phone.
'Fine,' I mumbled, 'I'm gonna go for another walk.'
I left before the girls could say goodbye.
And it wasn't as though this walk would be random. I knew exactly where I was going.
Jess POV
I've been talking to Damien for the past week or so, and he had just given me his address. I'm trying to decide whether its worth going today, although its already 4pm.
'You okay?' asked Mel, sitting up. She was so caring and considerate, always rushing to your aid if you were sad.
'Yeah I'm alright,' I said dismissively. She laid back down after a curious glance and started watching something on her phone.
Although I hadn't known her for a decade or anything, I knew Mel hadn't had an easy life. Being one of several siblings, she always had to fight to be noticed. With her caring nature, she got fucked over way more than she deserved.
I try to be as nice to her as I can, I try to not ruin her any more than she already has been.
I sigh thinking of this.
'I'm gonna go for a walk,' I say, standing up and grabbing my sneakers, 'you can come if you'd like.'
'Nah I'm alright, I'm gonna wait here for Tess.'
I slip my feet into my shoes and head out the door. I don't even care about what I'm wearing or what my hair's like. I can't be bothered.
As I leave the hotel, I use my phone to get to Damien's house. It's your average house; brick, about four rooms, cream and brown colour scheme.
For some reason, a wave of nervousness attacks me. I sigh, walking up to the front door and past the two cars in the driveway. Knocking on the door, I wait patiently for quite some time. There's no noise coming from inside, and I begin to wonder if anyone is home. But, I tell myself, there are two cars in the driveway. Surely someone is home. Damien didn't live alone anyway. Becoming impatient, I knock again. There are a few heavy footsteps, and the wooden door swings open. There stands Damien, looking stoned as ever. I smile at him.
'Hey,' he says, smiling back at me and opening the door a little further to let me in 'I didn't know I'd be seeing you today.'
'I didn't know you would be either,' I say, as I walk into the hallway, and get what could be the biggest shock of my life so far.
One phrase enters my head.
What the fuck?
