Madge quietly nibbled on her salad as she gazed at the newspaper. Two of her co-workers, Molly and Amanda walked in giggling as they helped themselves to lunch. They both waved at Madge as they sat down at a table across the room.
Reading of murder in a neighboring town, Madge began finding it harder and harder to concentrate on the column she was scanning over as Molly started commenting on Clark's visitors.
“Did you see that guy? Mr. Heaney? Holy CRAP!” She giggled as she stuck her tongue out panting like a overheated dog. “What I would give for a mate like that.”
“I know, I wonder if he is single?” Amanda questioned as she bit off the end of a slice of pizza. “I'd love to 'welcome' to the pack personally.” She wiggled her brows at her friend causing Molly to snort as she laughed.
Anger boiled within Madge. She normally had control of her emotions but these women would talking about her mate like a piece of meat! More like a door knob, and each of them wanted a turn. Madge looked down at her plate full of food and she could no longer stomach eating another bite at the thought of Sean in the throws of passion with Molly or Amanda.
Picking up her plate of food, she threw it in the waste bin a bit harder than she should of then swung the door to the break room harder than any human could causing it to slam into the wall.
“What the?” Molly gasped as they both watched Madge stomp down the hall and out the front door.
Just get to your car, don't let it out until your in the car, Madge chanted to herself as she quickly fumbled with the door handle finally getting it open so she could slide in. With the door shut, she let her face drop into her hands letting her mask fade away. Back in her normal body, Madge could calm down, work her demons out.
Moments like this only solidified her thoughts of Sean. She knew she could never drag him into her life, leaving her with no choice but to abjure their bond. The very thought of abjuring Sean caused her stomach to knot ferociously and a dry heave to take over.
A light tap on the window scared Madge, her head popping up before she realized her disguise wasn’t in place yet she met the worried gaze of Sean. Sighing heavily she rolled the window down, “What?”
“God, your more beautiful close up.” Sean could hardly think straight as he stared at his mate, his fingers itched to touch her, his wolf longed to taste her rose colored lips. Hell, his human side did too.
“What do you want, Sean?” Madge rolled her eyes as she covered her face with her hands. Finally drawing power from within ensuring her disguise was back in place before looking back at him.
Watching her silky brunette hair disappear to the dull blonde hair, and her sparkling emeralds replaced with two muddy brown eyes, Sean's smirk fell. “I heard the door slam inside, Clark and I checked it out, found out it was you. I offered to talk to you.”
“I'm fine, nothing to talk about. You can go back to your business.” Pinching the bridge of her nose, Madge was sure a migraine was setting in, the very last thing she needed at this moment. Migraines had been a problem since she was a child, only proving to get worse over the years. And this one was going to be no different from the ones of the past.
“Really? So slamming the door against the wall had nothing about those two she-wolves talking about me?” His arms were leaning against the top of her door caging her in her seat as he bent over so he could look into her eyes.
